I'm one of the few people who would prefer a dub to subtitles, providing that the dub was, y'know, actually good. Prefering the original to a bad dub is one thing, but ignoring a well translated, well acted dub seems a bit nerd-for-the-sake-of-it.

However, since that rarely happens...

Depends if there's a karaoke episode in that anime. Or a few other things. Or even just singing.

Again, for me, it'd depend on how well done the singing was. I still think the English version of Romantic Adventure (or whatever it's called) is better than the original.

I'd love an English version of DAN DAN, too...

Take Macross Plus (Maybe other things Macross, but I've only seen Plus). The song that was sung by that girl was pretty important... I'm guessing that's why there's no dub.

Speaking of subbing / dubbing, has anyone seen Blood: The Last Vampire? What the hell?!

I saw it, thanks to the Goddess named Amy. From what I can tell, the thing wasn't dubbed to begin with. They alternated between English and Japanese in the original version. It blew my mind at first, though.

Wow, that's crazy. Nobody ever mails me anything...

Err, not that I have any money aside from my 50 cent coin, which I have plans for.

What's she charging you, anyway? The life of your family?

Nah, just some episodes of the D.N.Angel anime. She's surprisingly kind-hearted.

It makes me think of Outlaw Star, where for some reason Melfina sung the first end tune in the final episode. Except she sung it in English, and the end tune was always played in Japanese. And I think the words were different. What was that about, anyway?

Actually, regarding macross Plus, the song sung my Myung or whatever is done in English on the English dub. And it doesn't sound too bad.

Really, Tablet? I couldn't find a dubbed version of Macross Plus... I had seen that one back in the day where I strongly preferred to see everything dubbed. Practically the only video in the store that was like that.

I saw the dubbed version of Macross Plus. It wasn't really a bad dub. And anyway the DVD should be dual-language, so it isn't like tracking the dub down is a big problem. I didn't mind "Myung's Theme" sung in English, but I still prefer the Japanese version on my soundtrack.

Macross Plus OAV version was dubbed way-back-when in 1994 or something. The DVDs are bilingual. The Movie however, is sub only.

The dub takes one or two script liberties, and some of the music is reaaranged, HOWEVER I still think it's better than the sub version. Not to say the sub version is bad though.

Ah. It was the condensed movie version I had seen. That's it...
