I don't get it....what's wrong with the fact Gohan gets his eyes tainted, and apparently somehow can't sense his enemy? I don't see the problem. Sounds legit so far.
Same but man the fandom love complaining about everything,I mean even if gohan loses,he will at least look cool, this is just an exhibition match and the gohan fans need to know the real tournament didn't even started
I don't think this would've been a problem if it was Vegeta fighting cause we've seen A LOT of him already and we know we're going to see more of him in the future but Gohan ? fans being worried is understandable. I don't think he's going to lose but based on the previous arcs it wouldn't surprise me if he did.
I know it's an exhibition match but if he has some real trouble here then what's he going to do in the tournament ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

he is going to train real hard for the real tournament and get serious because he know he loss to lavenda because he didn't trained that much, so he is going to get serious for this. I mean he has a lot of matches in the future so the fandom should stop overreacting

I wouldn't be surprised if Gohan fights well even without sight or ki. He's never been treated as a unskilled fighter in universe. It's just a fan theory that doesn't really hold much water and I expect this tournament to fully disprove it.
Well we're only talking about the fighters and Bulma and Dr Briefs never fight. Besides, Piccolo thinks of a lot of strategies but seeing as how they almost never work, I'd say Vegeta is the best tactician then.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I think Vegeta, piccolo and roshi are the best tactician in that team, they could fill that role easily

Why would Roshi be a better tactician than Goku ?

I mean roshi has a lot of experience but your right Goku is also a good tactician

Probably because he's a 300 years old martial artist master, but considering he actually had updated himself with the current battle forms. I still consider Goku over him though.
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

It is obvious from what he has done before. There are things that do not need to be said in many situations to come to conclusions.

The last time Goku fought Roshi was in Dragonball. He's grown considerably since then.

As a gohan fan I hope he loses his match because if he wins he gets nothing from it. I want him to have a real "holy shit if I don't get stronger and more focused on martial arts not only will my family and the earth be destroyed but my whole universe will be wiped out" moment. real motivation no more relying on Goku to save the day some how but have faith in his own abilities as a fighter plus it also makes sense for him to lose with all the handicaps he has to face being blind, unable to sense his opponent and being rusty
Can't wait to see what happens
Spoiler:
I love selfish Goku. it's his most endearing trait. without it dragon ball wouldn't have lasted this long. even though I hated Goku when I was a kid mostly for all the stupid shit he did. he have grown on me because I understand him now. Goku is a pure blooded saiyan; a race of battle hungry warriors. only thing that makes Goku feel alive is death matches with people who are stronger than him. that's why he wanted the no killing rule removed from u6 vs u7 tournament; that is why he wanted to spare freeza again; that's why he's so bored after almost being killed by black and zamasu. Goku is a fighting junkie who would put universes on the line if it meant he'd have amazing battles. he loves this shit and so do I. what makes him awesome is his fight boner don't castrate Goku

I think best case scenario for us is that he wins, but Goku loses and Gohan has a oh shit moment because of that. If his dad who's much stronger than him loses this early in the game, it'll be clear he needs to get his shit together. It could also send the same message to Goku. It's not just fun and games. There is a very real chance that u7 will lose and he'll be partly to blame.

Edit: The 70th episode also comes with a audio commentary Including Nozawa, Furuya and Morita. That's the baseball episode right? Should be pretty funny.

as long as he comes to the conclusion to stop relying on his dad so much and finally have faith in himself I'll be happy regardless of how he gets there

Ohh I like this idea. Next week (and Saturday) can't come soon enough.

Vegeta as a tactician is more often stated than show though. Like him being this "master tactician" only started getting stated post-Namek, pretty much when he began to stop using tactics. Regardless if Piccolo's plans work or not, I'd put him over Vegeta as far as tactics go. I might even put Goku over him in that. Goku's no slouch himself.

Vegeta is a tactical fighter, when he isn't fighting like his entire plan to kill Kid Buu, or the stunts he pulled on Namek. In actually combat, it's an informed ability since several characters run circles around him when it comes to outsmarting the enemy.

Vegeta did use a successful tactic against Android 19, while Piccolo played dead. Vegeta's idea to use the spirit bomb also worked more than Piccolo's ideas in the Boo saga which always made things worse. I think Vegeta's much more successful than Piccolo. I might put Goku over him too though.

Vegeta's plan with 19 was kind of stupid since there were several ways he could have removed Android 19's hands without getting his energy sucked nor did he had to confirm that the Androids drained energy. He clearly saw it when 19 absorbed the Kamehameha. And Piccolo's plan to trapped Buu in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber worked. He had no way of knowing that Buu could scream to escape.
