For the hell of it, I broke down Dragon Ball chapters by initial goals & when they're a success or failure. Additionally, I'll include whatever new goal is mentioned in the result chapter. I'm attempting to be as minimalist as possible.

[1-23] Bluma wants the perfect boyfriend.
[23-53, 23-85] Goku desires Turtle Hermit's training, Gohan's Dragon Ball, & competition]
[85-92] Tao Pai Pai is hired to assassinate Goku & steal his Dragon Balls. (Failure)
[92-111] Goku vows to revive Bora.
[111-161] The Fortuneteller foresees Goku saving the world.
[161-193] Junior vows to avenge Piccolo. (Failure)

All "loose ends" end there! Chapter 193 concludes with Piccolo's failure. Of course, there's an epilogue but it's irrelevant in this exercise. However, I'll consider the argument that Piccolo exacts his revenge later. I figure one person would rather I continue from here anyway.

[161-204] Junior avenges Piccolo.
[204-241] Saiyans seek out Earth & its Dragon Balls. (Failure)
[241-329] Kuririn wants to revive everyone.
[329-332] Freeza & Cold seek revenge. (Failure)

This time, there's no loopholes. Chapter 420 ends rather conclusively without hint of continuation. Of course, we all know Toriyama wasn't ready to retire just yet[spoiler]EDIT: Leftovers from my outline. I cut them but who doesn't appreciate extra footage?

To me, accurate translations are enough to make me feel like I'm watching the Japanese version. I'd be pretty bored if all voices were imitations of the Japanese version. As long as the voice fits the character and the acting is good as well, I'm fine with the performance.
