2017 Dragon Ball Predictions

[Dragon Ball Ireland]

1. Super will continue until next year at least
2. The Universe Survival arc will last until November
3. Something will disrupt the Omniversal tournament and lead into a new arc
4. Super's animation will remain somewhat inconsistent but every few weeks we'll get one, maybe a few episodes of absolute brilliance
5. We will get Sumitomo's best work on Super so far with the current arc
6. Super's ratings and merchandise sales will increase considerably, particularly in the US
7. Super's success in the US and other parts of the world will lead to the announcement of a new movie in July for a release next year
8. The Bang Zoom Super dub will be partly recovered via TV recordings
9. Super and Kai: The Final Chapters will each get 3 DVD/BD parts from Funimation
10. The Pioneer movie trilogy will be announced for a collector's edition Blu-Ray release
11. Xenoverse 3 will be announced for a christmas release
12. We will see several one-shot mangas from the Dragon Ball Room

I hope this is the case. If they took the time it took to develop Xenoverse 1 to improve upon Xenoverse 2 (which is good), that would be something that would be a little more exciting then another half-sequel. There's definitely some staleness that ought to be addressed with the Xenoverse formula.

• My need for spoilers will have me trudging through the manga

  Watching the english dub of Super will feel like a drug trip after two years of sub

  Hit will get his ass kicked in this tournament
  The Gran Priest will be creepy
  Probably a new game
  Merchandise that can blacken skies!

10. The Pioneer movie trilogy will be announced for a collector's edition Blu-Ray release

That's in my top 5 best Dragon Ball things that will never happen, along with a DVD release of the Westwood dub, Ocean Kai finally airing, Funimation doing an actually good release of the three original Dragon Ball series, and an uncensored manga release.

On a more serious note, if they were going to do that, it'd be a third audio option on the main Blu-Rays, since Pioneer's dubs were uncut. I think if we get a re-release of the Pioneer dubs, all we'll get is a reissue of the original DVDs. Maybe a new transfer of the original DigiBeta master, like they did for the Rock The Dragon set(Which already included the uncut Dead Zone and World's Strongest anyway), but it probably wouldn't even have special features.

2. Zamasu/Fake SSB Trunks/Vegitto Blue/SS Rose DLC For Xeno 2.
3. Super ties up with GT (Somehow) OR Gohan gets first dips at SS4. In other words, SS4 appears in Super (Highly Unlikely)
4. Universe Survival Arc tops Zamasu's arc.
5. We get a Movie-only Character into Super.
6. Super beats the 100 episode mark.
7. Animation improves for the new arc.
8. No more Arale (although, Arale breaking the planet in half brought me to tears for laughing).
9. Someone dies for good.
10. GT Blu Ray releases (again, highly unlikely)

Curious what kind of predictions we will have for this coming year. 2016 was a dragonball filled year and it looks like 2017 will be even more so. Now that the dub of Super starts in January i expect the marketing and products available for this new property to increase drastically.

Predictions:

1. Dragon Ball Super will not end its run in Japan this year
2. Their will be a timeskip post Z for Super before the end of 2017
3. No New Video Game in 2017 in the USA
4. Both Kai and Super will have the same simultaneous days for home media releases on all releases
5. No OVA's of course
6. Tons of new super related figures, tshirts and merchandise here in the states
7. Pan will be shown as an SSJ or SSJB before the end of 2017

I made my predictions now for yours

[Eternal Super Saiyan]

I realize this is General Franchise but I'll do a DBS prediction.

Gohan becomes somewhat more relevant again.
Goten/Trunks are just filler characters now.
Vegeta starts a trend of having a slight lead in strength over Goku (this already happened 1-2 times so far).
New transformations. Who did not see this coming. I don't really require another but, oh well. I'm calling it anyhow.
Kaioken! Goku works on developing this slowly (he did make a promise to use it "against Beerus some day" when he fought Hit)
And ultimately, Beerus aka power level plot hole, keeps getting stronger to compensate for Goku's and Vegeta's improvements, because the plot needs him to be. (When he said "full power" in the BoG arc he meant to say 1%, actually! )

I expect from meh to possible great things.

Great things will most likely come from Dragon Ball Heroes, maybe Xenoverse 2 (or Xenoverse 3, just its announcement would be great) and that "Dragon Ball Room".

What great things? What has actually come from Dragon Ball Hero's that has any substance at all? Seriously, are you even talking about the same Dragon Ball Heroes? Because I want to hear all about this great innovative series.

The meh things will come from the anime/manga portion if they continue to not dare bring new things, if they continue to not step out from the "comfort zone". Stop bringing back past villains to die right away, stop using characters that already have their development set and enough screentime. Dragon Ball has a lot of things that should be visited, to expand upon... So they must stop making tournaments after tournaments too and give attention to what really matters.

The meh things came from the video games, with Dragon Ball Fusions being the only exception. And besides only Freeza came back and it was better than the plot of Xenoverse 1, 2, and heroes combined. Then who's going to replace them Go-Beat? The literal Goku clone? And they've only ever made two tournaments in super.

My thoughts.

-Black will return in the Universe Survival Arc possessing Son Goku around May/June.
-Movie 3 will be a retelling of the Future Trunks Arc, and drop around May/June to crosspromote Black's return in Super.
-Dragon Ball Fusions gets a port to Nintendo Switch.
-Bandai Namco announce Dragon Ball VR exclusively for PlayStation VR.
-No Xenoverse 3 this year.
-Funimation releases Dragon Ball GT on Blu-ray.

Here are my 2cents on this
-DBS will end this year (this is quite embarrassing since everyones into DBS wont end this year)
-Goku will get a new form
-Gohan will become relevant! I BELIEVE THIS WILL HAPPEN!
-No movie announcements for DB
-Animation will jump from bad to avg for the most part (I hope)
-Goku will never change
-We will get some manga update that has nothing to do with the DBS manga.
-This US arc will run until September and will be the final arc of Super, then shows us Goku and Oob's meeting.
-The "I hate Goku, this is all his fault, he's a dumbass for doing this, totally not in character" will continue even after the arc has finished.

Assuming that sooner or later we will have a time skips past-EOZ, I actually do wonder if they will reanimate EOZ as the last past of Super or first part of new series. Or they will not touch it and go "just watch last 2 episodes of Kai".
