And if it is NDA it is by her own hands not Bang Zoom. Why would you not want to be credited in a Dragonball property regardless of the studio who dubs it? The other Bang Zoom cast was ecstatic to announce their involvement.

Ulterior motive? Perhaps she had to do that to keep another job, or perhaps she didn't want to ruin her chances of working with Funimation? My personal theory is perhaps she is also in DB Super's FUNi dub somewhere and didn't want to be fired. Still, if this ISN'T her, this Haley Lewis seems to be a pseudonym. I doubt someone would put a VA with NO experience as one of the main cast of a major dub. Also, I saw someone mention Gon? That's also Erica Mendez.

So I was very surprised I was talking to Erica Mendez at Anime Milwaukee just saying how I thought it was cool to hear another take on Kid Trunks for the Bang Zoom version and she said it wasn't her???!! Any idea who is the voice actress for kid trunks in this dub? It sure sounds like Gon and Yuuki???

It's fine, I gotcha now. Yeah, I'd have to agree. She probably knew if she said yes it would somehow make it's way here, which would show she ruined her NDA if she has one.

That's what I think as well. On a second listen to Episode 1, this is either the best Mendez mimic in the world, or it is Mendez. The pitch at monotone is parallel to her portrayal of Ryuko Matoi, the grunts and yells sound almost exactly the same, and overall the pattern of speech just screams Mendez. I think we can deduce that Mendez lied to you for some reason we are unaware of, probably which had something to do with keeping a VA role.

Well it is credited as Haley Lewis but when I search it Erica Mendez popped up. While I understand NDAs if it really was her I lost a little respect for her as she made me feel like an idiot. I mean the worse thing about it was it was after a panel and I was talking to her one on one. So if she is Kid Trunks all she would of had to say was thanks. Glad I didn't buy a Kid Trunks statue for her to sign like I thought about that woul have been awkward. Whoever is doing Kid Trunks is doing a great job.

It's worth noting for year Steve Blum had to lie to fans about roles of his due to NDA, Unions and other contractual obligations, it's less common nowadays however. I think he even had to say he didn't play Spike for a while but I may be wrong. For someone like Erica, who is usually very quick to chat with fans and confirm roles on her Twitter I speak from experience, there must be more to it. I did ask her on Twitter after episode 1 and got no response, I found that odd cause she is often very quick to confirm if a role is her or not as I mentioned in a past post with a sound alike in a dub I can't remember. I wouldn't take too much offense to her blowing the question off, think of just how many people must have asked if she's playing Trunks at this point both on Twitter and in person? Either she isn't Trunks and she's sick of being asked or she is Trunks and she's sick of being asked.

I just wanted to say, could you imagine Steve Blum Goku in Super? I would've been a very happy man. Then again, I could listen to Blum read the phone book and be a happy camper.

I feel like we need a voice actor catalog, sorta like the animation catalog. One that goes through every single known voice of each character, gives a bit of what we know about the voice actor, and the amount of time they played the character. I'm suprised that doesn't exist, or if it does I haven't found it yet.
