I liked this episode and it had decent animation throughout, but saying that it didn't have any awkward moments is sort of a stretch..

What's the issue with that? Looks fine.

The only truly awkward shot that stood out to me on my first watch was this one.

On the whole, Tate's character art was very strong, even discounting any that had 2nd KA hands on them.

That's normal. In any other animes, the character designs wouldn't get so strict. This is Tate's style, far different from Yammamuro's. His style is much simpler, it doesn't have any super details, nor too solid looking body.

It's just normal I guess. Animes like Dragon Maid has powerful animation (far powerful, superior), because of the simple designs. But, the anime is kind of random though.

Every modern DB materials aren' normal, because of Yammamuro's correction. Resulting, people seeing simpler designs made them said it's awkaward looking.

But, why the fuck is the white stuff is there?! I thought Yamammuro removed it in his recent ones.
I'm bad at English and still learning. If there's anything wrong, please correct me. :D

First half definitely had some rough looking moments. This bit here actually made me laugh the first time I saw it:

Yea looks super bright and has no line processing for some reason. I guess that will be fixed when the EP airs.

I can't claim to be any sort of animation / art aficionado in the slightest, that's something I can wholeheartedly admit to, but there was one shot in today's episode I haven't seen anyone bring up and it's one I really, really dislike.
Image (Excuse the horrendous quality, it was a quick Puush image taken but while the quality's wonky, don't let that distract you please)
Overall, the episode looked pretty fine, but that style.....really didn't look like it belonged in the same show just because the proportions, facial expressions, and linework just didn't fit with anything I've seen in Super so far. I can completely understand letting animators having their own traits in their work, I can completely encourage that, but this wasn't even close to how they were previously drawn and falls more in line to when characters are drawn much more exaggerated in a different style for comedic effect. Seems very, very patchwork, but luckily it wasn't there for too long nor was it reused. The angel's not too bad either, it's just the God of Destruction and Supreme Kai that really irk me. Besides that, I personally thought the rest of the episode looked absolutely amazing, hope to see even more of that as the tournament continues! :)
By jove, I've got nothing important to say!

lol I really fucking enjoyed this week's animation. It was so fast paced and awesome.
I can't believe I'm saying this but Tate did a good job, the art was also pretty good.

Honestly I'm not sure why so many people say there's only one shot they don't like, to me there were several points in which the faces looked really goofy, though I won't list them all here seeing as most have already been covered here.

I definitely liked the fight scene animation though, especially the way Buu's stretchiness was done. It looks like Tate's work on One Piece has benifitted him greatly.
"*sarcastically* Yeah, sure, let's go see Yamcha."

#79

First off, is it just me, or did they re-use Basil's laugh from the previous episode.

The first half of the episode is decently polished, but I can't say it wasn't awkward at points.

Overall most of the fighting was serviceable enough in the first half, and besides some awkward scenes, I can't really complain.

Some decent character acting and Tate delivers some of his most polished work on the series, so a definite plus.

Overall, most of the fighting is pretty janky outside of what Tate did, but I guess it was serviceable enough considering this is just an exhibition match.

Still a lot better than nearly everything we got in the previous tournament so I'm happy with it. I just hope that these episode aren't remembered as being better than most of the tournament itself.
The next episode looks pretty conservative, which I'm fine with.

Tates very conservative but still very impactful Majin Buu vs Basil cut.

I actually like both of those shots, and i think Gohan looks weird a lot of the time in super.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
