I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

To be specific, Toriyama wanted to base Super Saiyan Goku's eyes off of Bruce Lee's eyes rather than basing Goku on Bruce Lee's characters.

His eyes from right after he transforms for the first time and looks up at Freeza… I based those off of Bruce Lee. Since that look of his where he glares right at you is paralyzing! That’s what I wanted to do in the Freeza arc… Once Goku gave that look, as far as I was concerned the story arc was over. I was like, “They have to start fighting now? What a pain!” My goal was just to get to that look. But when it actually came time to draw it, it turned out a bit different than how I had imagined it. I still thought Bruce Lee looked a lot cooler. (laughs)
