Viz to release 'Dragon Ball Collector'
Sounds interesting. However, like many others, I'd really rather just have the Daizenshuu translated. I don't think the Kanzenban is going to come just yet, considering the translated tankobans just finished being released last year (right?). That's an excuse for not releasing Kanzenbans. However, now that the entire manga has been released, and the season sets are being sold, why not just translate and release the daizenshuu?
Please?
Please?

Ditto. It seems like everyone else was wanting translated Daizenshuu, too.Chuquita wrote:You gave me this great hope for a translated Daizenshuu and then dashed it away all within the topic post.![]()
It seems like such a strange move for them to do, what with the series already ended (manga and anime alike). And what other DB merchandise can Viz release? I mean, I guess they could put out clothes and apparel like they've been doing with their other titles. But then again, can they? There's the whole FUNimation owning the anime, after all...
I'm really hoping that this was some kind of misprint and that we'll finally be getting translated Daizenshuu (crosses fingers).
I'm guessing this news is in the August release, since the latest one (I'm pretty sure) I've got is the July one. (Geez, making me open a bunch of my moving boxes to check
Well... can't you still make the scan?GokuSoul wrote:Yeah I saw this too I wanted to scan it and make a thread a few days ago but I didn't get to that.

This reminds me of The old "Pojo Unoffocial Total DBZ" books. I still have one of those.

I just got the August issue of domestic SJ and flipped through the pages to see if there was anything major about the release. They barely even mention it! The article is basically a "timeline" for what future issues of the magazine hold.

Though what's strange is that this Dragon Ball Collector isn't listed under the "On Sale" section of the month, suggesting that it's not going to be an actual separate book like the Naruto Collector releases, but some kind of article for that particular issue.

They're releasing THREE volumes of Naruto in the same month?!
That's so unfair to those of us who wait months on end for Viz's other series that are not Naruto. >_>
I remember waiting six months between Tenchi's back when that was coming out.
I just hope Funi's One Piece dub gives Viz an incentive to publish that series a little faster.

Seriously, the time between volume releases for One Piece is insane. I don't understand why it takes so long anyways. Scanlators have chapters translated within 24 hours of the chapter's release. I mean, I know it's more complicated than that, but please, six months is ridiculous...Chuquita wrote:They're releasing THREE volumes of Naruto in the same month?!

Um,that is a kinda strange chart. Meh. I still think it's going to be some sort of Dragon Ball equivalent to the Naruto Collectors though. I think it's worth it,if it comes with creator interviews and some other goodies...DaemonCorps wrote: I just got the August issue of domestic SJ and flipped through the pages to see if there was anything major about the release. Yeah, anyway Naruto is getting better treatment and faster releases,it's Shonen Jumps best selling manga. It's a given. As a fan of Naruto I can't say I'm really upset about it. But I am mad that all of their other releases are so slow now. But maube,as a part of this "Shonen Jump" evolution we'll get some faster releases.
Shaman King graphic novels are being sold monthly now, three a month for Naruto with 5 chapters per magazine, and we're getting a Dragon Ball collector.

How much do you think it will cost? I'm guessing about $15.
As for Naruto, VIZ is releasing 3 a month from Sept-Dec as part of a special program. They are doing it to get to Part 2 faster. Expect the first volume of Part 2 in Jan.

They're also coming out with Naruto's equivalent of the daizenshuu. The first in September and the second in October. My Birthday+X-mas wishlists are going to be nothing but Naruto, DBZ, and Star Trek merchandising...Big Momma wrote:How much do you think it will cost? I'm guessing about $15.
