I'm thinking Grand Priest informed every universe's Kaioshin and Hakaishin about this and then they relayed the information to the fighters that will represent their respective universe so that they will take this seriously. But at the same time they're so consumed in making their universe look good they've forgotten about the the stipulation paired with the tournament.

I doubt they won't explain it.
I think Gohan wins and then says if U9 doesn't pull their crap up he'll erase them and that's how the rule will be blurted out.

Oh Goku's gonna fight Bergamo, there's no doubt about that. He probably still thinks Zeno won't go through with the rule and won't until one universe drops, which may be U9 as early as this part since the whole purpose of this exhibition fighting is to serve as an in-universe tease for the main event. It would fit for U9s "teaser role" to go to its logical conclusion: getting annihilated by Zeno to prove to everyone that definitively shit will go down hard.

Plus, it means Toriyama & Toyotaro don't need to design seven more characters for U9.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Either way this is gonna be a win-win for me, things that will heavily define the tone of the whole arc on my birthday, couldnt ask for a better B-day gift.

I wouldn't be so sure. Goku did forfeit during the Champa arc.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Get the feeling that's why Bergamo is making the deal.

Only because he couldn't fight Hit all out, if Champa and Beerus agreed to remove the no killing rule, he would've kept going until one of them lost.

Goku fights Bergamo, is satisfied, decides to throw the match to spare U9 and somehow he accidentally wins. That's my prediction.

He must feel awful. Being a God and no one respects him. Just sad.
And Zamasu thought he had it bad. Fuckin' edgy Kaios thinking about "Justice" and shit just because they got strong by chance.

Yeah I don't think Bergamo would be doing all these things if the score was 1-1, I'm fairly confident Gohan wins or is a tie.

Didn't he also stop because he didn't want to be a pawn ? well he's one. And you think fighting a person he's pretty much already beaten is more important than lives to him ? Goku's not that bad. The only way I see him not throwing the fight is if it means u7 is going to get destroyed .

Funny thought....Goku cannot forfeit the match. The present Omni-King knows how strong Goku is.

If he tries to loose the fight on purposes the Omni-Kings will erase him, his team and possibly team U9 to!

Is it wrong to think there is a possibility that Bergamo would just beat Goku clean as a whistle?

After this new condition is brought up they will probably suggest throwing the match but then Beerus will mention that if Goku does throw the match Zeno might destroy Universe 7 for not meeting his expectations.
They will probably play it off as a moral dilemma with Goku coming to the conclusion that winning the match is the correct choice.

I'm going with this again, because with Gohan winning is 2-0 for U7, and if U9 gets swept its logical they would get erased for being too weak.

Gohan fans should be extremely happy he is winning this saturday.

No, I've got a strong feeling he's much stronger then most people think and his copy cat ability should be interesting.

I doubt Goku would've cared about being a pawn if Champa and Beerus gave into his suggestion. Who's he already beaten? Bergamo?

If Bergamo is using underhanded tactics like this, he most likely is losing.

Either that or he's trying to preemptively win before the fight even starts by having this condition brought up. His brothers losing would definitely give him pause about his own ability to win, especially since he acknowledged that Goku's a cut above Gohan or Boo.

This forum and the community as a whole will lose their minds if Goku purposely beats Bergamo. We never had Goku's morality come into question to this extent in the entire series up till this point.

Toriyama is really trying to rid of the old English Funimation's interpretation of Goku's overall character, in which he was looked at as a hero.
