The Parallel

Post by Saiyan Soul » Sun Feb 26, 2017 11:23 am

Was just thinking about today's episode and I do love the parallel that the Universal survival arc brings, you gotta admit that it's such a nostalgic throwback to the beginning of Z.

The universes' are based on a mortal level, the lower ones are set to be destroyed while the higher ones live on.

This is such a throwback to Goku and Vegeta's first fight and the whole powerlevel concept, Goku was disregarded from the race because of his powerlevel (parallel to mortal level), Vegeta was kept alive by Frieza because Frieza saw potential in Vegeta, (Similar to how Zeno saw potential of the mortals in the universes with a lower mortal level and decided to give them a chance, it's also a parallel to how Zeno spared the universes with the higher mortal rating) well there was also the added reason that Vegeta was away from the planet at the time

When they both finally clashed for the first time, Goku's words to him were
"Even a reject can surpass an elite if he trains hard enough"

His words differ on the medium but the general concept is still the same of a reject outdoing an elite by hard work.

This arc literally embodies those words, the rejected universes in the tournament are vying to prove just that, that they're not just rejects who should be based by their levels.

I did not think of it like that, that's an interesting approach to it..
Seems like in the universal level we are being reintroduced to power levels as mortal levels ( we have no idea what the mortal levels are based on right now but power can't be ruled out instantly )

With Toppo using the term battle power manipulation we might be in for some power readings this arc

Indeed but I see a lot of people saying that the mortal level is based on strength alone while Beerus and Supreme Kai's conversation suggests that it's more of the race's advancement and evolution, I hope we get an indepth explanation in the next few episodes, Whis would probably explain it or they may jump over it and let Toyataro explain it in the manga.

Those concepts are really good, they create a meta-narration you can think and play with.
In the end, Zeno never experienced low ningen aptitude and will, maybe this tournament can lead him to revise his concept of merits.
The higher universes can challenges the lower ones, too, later...
I had to say that this scale was one of the smartest idea in Super so far.
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.
