Yea Takamura seems to be a good guess.

As I said a few pages back, Takamura is also my guess.

The only outliers are those few shots in #64, which is what is throwing me off. They threw me off back when I was guessing Itai and they're back to make my life hell again!

The thing is, if you don't consider it a coincidence or uncredited work, then the only consistency between all the episodes that particular style shows up in is Higashide. I'm not so sure that rough Higashide would look like that, so I'm not gonna overthink it, and just stick with Takamura.

I know this might sound a little rude Ajay, but when do you plan to update the noteable cuts section of the front page of the thread?

Not rude at all! I'm very far behind on a lot things, honestly. I've been compiling a list of things to fix up, change, and/or update; I just have to find a bit of time to do it.

Hmm. Looking at how the NEP for episode 80 appeared and what actually got in the episode itself, I have to say the thicker outlines and the brighter colour palette really do complement the animation at times.

Toei is also using that line filter in Tiger Mask, it seems. Why One Piece doesn't use it too? It's doing wonders.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Agreed! I feel like they perfected the filter this episode, it definitely improves the look but it isn't a eye sore like the brief bit of Goku vs Whis was in 76.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

My main complaint right now is that they need to tone down the glow on the Super Saiyan aura.

I actually like the look. I think we can all agree it's better than Yo Son Goku colors for super saiyan.

Also, the thing I love about having the wolf enemies is that even when they're off model they don't look bad. It just looks like a different style.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Heck nah. I loved the gold hair there. I thought it looked awesome. I haven't seen SSJ look that good since the Ultimate Tenkaichi intro.

I haaaaate how Super Saiyan looked in Yo Son Goku.

Anyways, another episode with out Jin Inaba, so we've gone 4 weeks without him, bodes well for the next episode he's on, hopefully either 81 or 82. That or maybe he got promoted to supervisor.
If he shows up on 81 or 82 we're looking at 5 or 7 weeks since the last episode he showed up on.

Seeing a really rough uncorrected image like this, get changed into something decently pleasant really changes my perspective on the filter. I still think it's a little cheap though, but if it countinues to be well done, I think I could grow to like it.

Just decided to share the two noteable cuts animated by Futoshi Highashide this episode, just so I can get peoples thoughts on them.

The first one, as a lot of people mentioned, is very reminiscent of Otsuka's cut from the OP, just with a lot less inbetweens. Despite this lack of inbetweens the scene still manages to be very dynamic. Really enjoyed the impact frame from when Gohan fired the Kamehameha, I thought that was neat. Also, not sure why the presumed tag is there, this scen definitely has Futoshi's effects, it's very reminiscent from his cut on #66 when Goku beats the crap out of Zamasu.

The second cut has this brilliant flow to it and I actually enjoy his effects work here, I believe when they are well executed they are up there with that of Tates. It's a little sad that it's such an isolated scene though.

EDIT: I think its also worth mentioning that the glow of Gohans aura in the first scene actually looks kinda pleasant.

I wonder who did this cut, there wasnt that much impact but the execution was epic.

Judging by the smoke effects at the end of the cut, I would guess that its Futoshi, though I'm not sure. The gif is low quality.

The movement of Gohan's body goes in a nice flow here. The storyboarding at the end also is pretty neat. I don't know who did it but that scene was pretty badass.
