It's funny how fans complain about Super yet we're the 1st ones to miss it when it's gone for just a week.DBS916 wrote:I dread that happening but hope the next episode gives us something special for waiting so long. And yes a week is too long of a break.

Just took a look to Financial Highlights for the Third Quarter of the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2017
Dragon Ball keeps outselling One Piece and the gap got bigger. Gundam keeps being the top dog but the gap got shorter.
Dragon Ball franchise is doing fantastic lately and with Super officially taking over the world, it will just get better.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Hmmmmmm a giant wolf man......Toriyama is this inspired by what I think it is?

Godzilla vs The Wolfman
Why do I keep having epiphanies right before the episode comes out?

After two failed attempts at a new brand (in GT and Kai) they finally got one to work! Guess third time was the charm. And yup Super's international roll out has just started so hopefully things can only get better for DB. I am kind of surprised by it's success in a way, it a series that hasn't started the strongest start, had a very slow international roll out, a majority of fans had to resort to piracy for the first year or so.FortuneSSJ wrote:Just took a look to Financial Highlights for the Third Quarter of the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2017

Well to be fair, kai was just Z so they had trouble selling more merchandise. The ratings were great though. It surpassed one piece a few times I think, not even Super has done that.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:After two failed attempts at a new brand (in GT and Kai) they finally got one to work! I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

They also made a similar mistake that Funimation did with their Dragon Box and Level releases of Z; they started releasing Kai immediately after Japan's standard home release finished. It only figures that people were burnt out on spending money on the Dragon Ball. I suspect that Kai would have been vastly more successful financially if they had waited until around 2012-2013. Of course, that may have offset Battle of Gods, and the entirety of modern Dragon Ball for that matter, so I guess it probably all worked out for the best that things happened the way they did.kinisking wrote:Well to be fair, kai was just Z so they had trouble selling more merchandise. Are you surprised? They advertise the shit out of DBS though. They have Whis and Beerus doing a lot of commercials lol.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
One Piece has been airing forever. Dragonball Super is technically a new show even if its based on a franchise that's been going for 30 years.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
There's no point to judging it as a new show when it comes to popularity, though. It's a franchise with an ingrained fanbase, popularity, etc. The "technical" standpoint isn't all that useful here.precita wrote:One Piece has been airing forever. Well, that's during Dragonball Supers time slot. Has anyone live streamed one piece to know if they advertise it a lot during that time slot ?MagmonKai wrote:Lord Beerus wrote:Damn. And I was really like the current ending.Grimlock wrote:New ending theme on April 19th.![]()

Wow I was kinda right about the format of the tournament being a battle royallord godly da don wrote:I see a lot of people saying it is going to be a 3v3 format in the main tournament but that sounds crazy when you think about it why would the Gods put the hopes of their universes on the shoulders of 30% of their team. I think it's going to be a battle royal were all 10 members fight at the same time and killing will be allowed so even if your team wins you're likely to lose some team mates so teaming up will be a focal point so you don't go into the next round short handed

Just re-watched One Piece. Not my show, but they did advertised Dragonball Heroes...but that's part of the Dragonball Franchise no? They played some the same commercials as they did during Super's broadcast, just not as many.

So, why did the guy say eight warriors from eight universes? I thought there were 10 warriors for each universe?
