But then Goku comes in and meddles. Now the strongest fighters are given the "honor" of defending their universe. What kind of mental stress and strain those 79 fighters have because of Son Goku? Out of the blue, no chance to train, you fight for the Gods amusement, and you need to win or everyone you love is dead. It's the plot of Bokurano! So now previously when you didn't know what was coming, now you do! And if that's bad, wait until those fighters are defeated! Think of the mental breakdowns these people are going to have, knowing they failed their family and friends and their universe, when previously if it was Zeno's will be done, at least they wouldn't have to suffer fighting in a tournament they were going to lose and have the realization their weakness doomed them.

You...make a good point. Couple of good points

But I think maybe there is something deep in this arc specifically? Perhaps a hidden message in this arc, about heroes that we cling on to so tightly, that when they make a wrong choice, and keep making it, we find ourselves at wit's end because we don't know what this means for our relation to them? I guess we'll find out by the end of this thing.

Exactly. Not even counting Goku, Pan at the age of four flew around the entire world like its no problem. Gohan and Goten can fly faster than the speed of sound at minimum too. It's not like he's in another universe
