Wasn't that cancelled?
Oh well, let's pretend it wasn't. I'll say a butchered version of Freeza.

To increase the fascination within the drama, should the search for a new partner begin? If so, then head to the east. You will definitely meet the one who is waiting for you."

There was going to be a movie, then there wasn't, then there was, now there isn't. They can't make up their minds... but the first movie was supposed to go from Goku Vs. Piccolo at the Budokai to Goku Vs. Vegeta on Earth. At least, the first movie was.

<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Who else here still remembers the day Planet Namek reported that Fox had the rights to make a live action DBZ movie? Long ago and far away... *begins basking in old memories*
I think I'm the only person who was hoping they would make it. I'd always been curious about what they would do with it, and whether it would help breathe some life back into the fandom. It would've been interesting, even if the end result was terrible. It would've given the fandom something new to talk about.

The fights might've been good if they could've gotten a HUGE budget to do a Matrix Revolutions type final battle with Neo versus Smith. Which was very cool, but one cool fight scene does not a good movie make, Wachowskis.
BTW, am I the only one who understood the end? Neo willingly became Smith so his body, jacked in at Deus's lair, or whatever you wanna call that location, could act as a conduit through which the machine leader, Deus, could enter into the Smith program and delete it. I've explained that a billion times to people.
I heard heard a tiny little Mike-sounding voice in my head saying 'On topic, Ben'.
Uh... well, here's my assassment of a DBZ Live Action movie: Super Mario Brothers. Oh, notice the purp[oseful mispelling? Because the movie would be ass? Heh? HEH!?!?

Feel free to call a foul on me here, but from what I can remember, FOX NEVER announced a DBZ live action movie. What FOX DID announce was a live action franchise. That CAN entail a movie, but it's no sure-fire sign of one. All they have is rights and it seems they're sitting on them.
of course, you know, find the original fox article/s saying they did and I retract my statement.

Hey, it's not all of us that were stating it. Funimation was the one advertising little teasers about it on their website. And the movie would have just given more ammo to all the anime snobs out there who despise DB enough as it is, since it wouldhave ended up being mindless crap, validating their opinions.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

I have a feeling that the DBZ movie wouldve bombed like Van Helsing. Over the top special effects with an off the wall plot. Not that I didnt like Van Helsing.
Honestly did they think they could condense the Pilaf arc to the Saiyan conflict into two and a half hours? Thats not humanly possible, without cutting a huge chunk of the story out. Or was it Ma Junior they were attempting to do? That seems a little more reasonable.

Or they cancelled each other out, since they were Yin and Yang. Or Neo was Jesus. Or any number of possible explanations that I've heard.Ben Plante wrote:BTW, am I the only one who understood the end? I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm just saying that you aren't necessarily right.
Not that it matters. It took 10 years, and GT to ruin Dragon Ball. It took 15 years and episode 1 to ruin Star Wars. The Wachowskis beat them all.

I didn't care for the end of the Matrix and yes, I was listening to loud music when they dropped the plans to make the movie. I, myself, would not like to have the live action come to about. It would've broke whoever would've been making it and they would've butchered the crap out of it. I've heard that Peter Jackson ( Lord of the Rings) is supposedly going to make a live action Neon Genesis which I'm also hesitate about.
I heard the DBZ movie was gonna be Goku vs. Vegeta on Earth but that's what I had heard. Also the whole "who'd play who?" was getting annoying.
