I find the idea that Vegeta has been domesticated, odd. Did everyone forget him against Black after RoSaT or abandoning his family for months to reach God level, we also have him tutoring Cabba.

For me Vegeta has been one of the most interesting characters in Super, mainly because we have been given the opportunity to witness his development that started in the Boo Arc.

If they do with him what have done at times with Goku, grab a character trait and greatly exaggerate it then they have failed. I don't want Vegeta to have constant monologues about how Goku surpassed once again, yadayadayada.

I'm interested in Jiren as well, not only because he's one of my guys and seems to be Goku's main threat but also.....U11 seems a little to good to be true. Dont get me wrong I'd love it to be the strait up and down, good universe but I have to wonder if there's a darker undertone to it.

I don't see hot-blooded Vegeta coming back. His character arc came full circle in the Buu arc and his place as a rival has really been diminished in Super.

I don't either. I'm willing to cut my losses and hope they'll come up with a new rival for Gokû who can be a decent replacement and entertaining character.

My problem with Vegeta in Super is he's sort of resigned himself to "well okay, me too" with Goku. It just doesn't hold to the original dynamic they had. I'm really curious how big a role he will ultimately have in this arc given his role was already lessened in the Trunks arc, the filler after and now the beginning of this one.

That's the sense I get from him. He seems burnt out on keeping up with Gokû, but he's having trouble cutting ties for good. Like being Gokû's self-proclaimed rival is becoming more of an obligation to him than the passion it used to be. Maybe Gokû's recognizing some of that and that's why he's doing stuff like hiring Hit to try and kill him, and reminding the Omni Kings about the tournament; he's looking for someone new to be his battle buddy now that Vegeta's on the verge of rival-dumping him to become a full-time family man.

Let's not get too depressed over this guys..
Can't say for others but manga Vegeta is still entertaining, it's not their plan to remove him from his rival position..
Its just that most of them absolutely suck at writing him ( and many others )

Manga Vegeta is wonderful and a part of why I'm still really enjoying the Super manga despite my interest slipping a bit in the anime. Toyotarou's not only writing Vegeta and Gokû well, he's also kept ssjg Gokû from being completely forgotten and I appreciate that.

I feel you, I'm tired of they using Vegeta for stupid and overused jokes, but I wouldn't say I would like his Super Vegeta persona to came back, I think the best characterization Vegeta ever had was when he came back to Earth to fight Boo-han that he had to join with Goku, we had good moments of them together (including filler)

Buu arc Vegeta was amazing and the Vegeta that I miss the most. I'd settle for early Super at this point only because I'm near the end of my rope with Vegeta and my hopes are so low atm, but Buu arc Vegeta is the ideal characterization of him that I'd be excited to see return.

Why are we acting like episode 63, 8, 36, 54 and more never happened. You guys act like Vegeta's never gotten hot blooded in this show.

Because the writers of those 4 episodes have also been missing in action for quite a while. The last 7 weeks of episodes have all been Tomioka.

8 was Toshio
36 was Koyama
54 was Ryû
63 was Toshio

Thankfully there's a Ryû and a Toshio episode coming up sometime soon; maybe things will get better once they're back. I don't know where Koyama is; maybe he's gone from Super.

At this point, Vegeta should just become Cabbas teacher, the only way to make his character move forward, it would be parallel when Goku becomes Uub teacher.

What if dende rebuilt the time chamber ( after Vegeta destroyed it for no reason whatsoever ) better than before? And now it can hold 10 people at once and give longer training time..
We kinda need all the time we can get here

Seriously though, I think most of us can relate to this in some way, when life gets stagnant we look grumpy, even if we are overjoyed in mind because goku acted like an adult for once..
Guess it's the same with you..

I mention it because no matter were I go people tell me to cheer up or say "it might never happen" because I apparently were a perpetual scowl even when I'm really not in a bad mood. Also people tend to find my smile and laugh a bit scary. I'm not an ugly guy people just seem to find me intimidating or nerving until they get to know me.

While I'm no ginger I do work indoors a lot and the real funny part is I got a bug bite on my nose and it was bright red and swollen about the time we started the exhibition match .
