Just 40 hours to get ready for a battle royal that will determine the fate of the universe they live in? Damn. That's practically no time at all. The ROSAT is going to get abused to hell and back because that heavily restricted preparation time.

If only there was a place even more effective than the ROSAT for them to effectively abuse.....

DB as a series has never been afraid to stretch out short periods of time though. Especially in the anime.

Sure, Gohan's probably getting his power BACK but that doesn't really mean much compared to the team's two FUCKING GODS. Maybe Piccolo can absorb some dudes, but that's just wishful thinking. The side cast will probably either be fucked over, fight fodder that Goku and Vegeta could one-shot, or fight on a level that makes no sense for them to fight on like Trunks did when he was fighting on a godly level for no real reason. I might be being overly negative though, so let's just wait and see.

No, it doesn't. We don't really know how Whis' staff works. It seems to be a void where God ki exists, but Super is incredibly vague about it.

True, but even still, would it kill Toriyama to bridge this power gap if even by just a bit? Seriously, the others aren't even in the same REALM of power. People complained about the power gaps in Z sometimes, and this is ten times as bad.

I don't disagree that the current power gap is awful - they really messed up with SSB etc. I really hope they find some way to work toward fixing it like they have with some of Super's other issues, so we'll see.

What's filler or even the continuity within Super is dubious when it's supposed to be a sequel to what came before but then picks stuff up from Kai, Z and the manga, making it impossible to fit in with any of them.

It's just like the 5 minutes in Namek and the 24 hours in the Time Chamber during Cell arc.

Looks like Toei is being smart again! Champa arc had 5 days of preparation for the Tournament and they stupidly rushed through them.

Well, barring them already having been working on it ever since Goku went and talked to Zeno and reminded him about it again.

Granted, that doesn't give them a TON more time to work stuff out, but given that we're dealing with Gods here...anything's possible. I'm not 100% buying into the theory yet, but I really wouldn't be surprised if the Grand Priest weren't up to something.

By accidentally using Jiren (which might actually be the name of the gray alien dude) instead of Toppo in the summary, there's a pretty clear name pun scheme now for the Pride Troopers:

Toppo = a rearrangement of potto, the Japanese word for pot
Jiren = a rearrangement of renji, the Japanese word for stove

So we have cooking stuff for these guys

I hope so. Especially after Goku and Vegeta used it for 3 years before the Universe 6 tournament even though it didn't really feel like they needed to... This time though, with such a huge risk, it seems necessary.

40 hours to have a megafight can be VERY long. They can drag that and milk it as long as 25 or so episode in my opinion.

I really hope so. His "Jaco, but buff" character design does nothing for me, but a charming personality goes a long way.

Stoic is ok, but not what I'm looking for in Gokû's next rival. Hit left me disappointed. (If only he'd been modeled after JoJo 2 or 4 instead of 3).
