Nobodies like Android 17 and Buu

I don't understand how people are still so delusional about what Super is. First, of course 17 is going to have a bigger spot in the opening compared to the other minor characters like Piccolo the humans and his sister, he is a returning character so the potential to get money out of him is much bigger than those other characters.

I will even give you a more extreme version of this same case. Look at Gohan right now. They literally do everything possible to keep him out of the plot during the first 80 episodes of Super, and now, out of nowhere they start hyping him and don't group him with all the other minor characters in the opening. Do you think that this is because they pivoted on the path they had taken with the character? Of course not. They just saw what they were able to accomplish with Future Trunks and we already know that Gohan was more featured by Toei than by Toyotaro with multiple hints throughout the show. Gohan's comeback is basically them seeing the money right in front of them and finally deciding to cash it in.

Buu is anything but a nobody, he could solo the universe 6 team all by himself even hit if he managed to land his candy beam or absorption on him..
17 I have no idea why people are hyped about, he wasn't entertaining in the slightest for me ever..

17 is awesome, and i hope he got stronger, and you are awfully wrong about U6:
Cabba, Hit and maybe even frost would wipe the floor with buu. Not too sure about magenta since I'm unsure about his ability to dodge the candy beam

EDIT: There is no chance in all 12 hells that Buu would be a match for hit under any circumstance whatsoever, Buuhan the strongest buu couldn't handle Vegeto, what makes you think that the weakest buu would stand a chance to Hit who is SBB tier, its like you forgot to watch the fight between fat and kid buu. I'm sorry if i come out as rude, but your assessment on this is off by a mile

Having said that, i would still be enjoying seeing he get a power boost, not from fusion but through his own training or some sort of unlock that makes him at least super perfect cell tier

Did you happen to read the part where I referenced Buu's personality? Not a big fan of 17's personality or relative lack of strength, but maybe Super will surprise me. As far as strength goes, Tien would probably wreck 17 at this point (and he did beat down semiperfect Cell if you recall). Roshi's fights are almost always entertaining, and his personality is fun, too. I don't really care how strong he is because his potential is more geared towards battle intelligence at this point in the series.

LOL and here i was arguing just a few days ago the validity of Tien being stronger than Kuririn, only to have people chime in and say Kurririn is the strongest earthling due to some interview phrasing which i dont totally buy

Nothing indicates Ten could even take Kuririn in a fight let alone someone far stronger in 17. 17 would wreck Ten.

Everything indicates Tien is stronger than Kuririn, the only thing Kuririn has in his favor is that old interview where Akira agreed with someone who said he is the strongest earthling. The power level itself wasnt the main topic of the ontext which is why i think they just forgot about tien. Hopefully DSB clears this once and for all

Every character is somebody's favorite.

Including 17 is nostalgia fanservice; people are curious about how he's been doing and not everyone reads Kanzenshuu so a lot of people don't know about his park ranger job, wife, and children.
Buu I think is being included because he was bait-and-switched in the last tournament; being advertised as part of it and then sleeping through the whole thing. This time's kind of a redemption for that.

Promotional material has no value as source material, they like to throw buzz words around. Kuririn has never performed better than tien in DBZ so everything indicates to him being stronger or maybe they dont consider tien human hehe. Reminds me of Battle of Gods, I personally think Tien will be superior in this arc, but we`ll see.

Its not posible, he already expelled all evil from him with skinny buu and most of the powers with it
For arguments sake, lets say he has some evil in him still... His form will be inferior to kid bu since most of his power was gone
