We Just Might Get A Cross Epoch Animation

This took place during the TOEI One Piece panel at Anime Expo.

At 06:41

"Will the Dragon Ball and One Piece crossover from Jump be animated?"

"It will be difficult, but if there are enough demands, there is a possibility"

Well, let's get to fucking demanding!

Also, let's ask ourselves this. Would we want this to simply be a One Piece TV Special? Or a completely separate release? Of course, this is going to require a bunch of filler material if it's going to fit a 30 minute timeslot, but who cares! If this is released, it'll definately be a dream come true for me.

Ah, Dragon Ball and One Piece in HD. :)

Cool. Wish Neko Majin also would be possible.

Cool. And with FUNi having the dubbing rights for both properties now, this might actually see a stateside release, were it to actually get animated. :D

Haha, yes!! That'd be so sweet if they did. And maybe it'd also bring in more fans? Though, that could be good or bad...haha.

I would really prefer to not see a crossover animation between the two series. A new Dragonball stand alone special would be great, or a Neko Majin Animation that of course includes some Dragonball characters would be much more fitting than trying to make a believable story between two seperate universes like that. Just my two cents though, take it with a grain of salt.

I thought that actually, an animated cross-over between DBZ and One Piece already exists :

I'd love to see an animated Sand Land myself, but I remember my graphic novel saying that Toriyama hated drawing the tank from it, so I doubt that'd happen. :p

Neko Majin. I really need to read that. As for the Cross Epoch thing, I'm not familiar with One Piece at all but this makes for a curosity. :D

Let me guess...you were one of people expecting an all out melee or you're just not a fan of One Piece. I personally thought it was a nice one-shot, though if it were to ever get animated, Toei definitely needs to think of more material to go along with it.

I wouldn't say terrible, but quite frankly, nothing special, not worth of getting animated, in my opinion of course. It was not cool, it was not funny, it was not action packed, it was just "oh here's some characters from Dragon Ball and from One Piece, now here's everyone having a party with Shenlong, the end."

I think the general appeal of Cross Epoch was merely the fact that Akira Toriyama and Eiichiro Oda were actually doing a collaborative manga project together. That in itself is enough to bring on a good amount of fangasms.

It was special though, As someone stated it's Akira Toriyama & Eiichiro Oda working together.

Hmm.. I definitely thought the interactions between the OP & DB characters were definitely humourous. Examples being Piccolo & Zoro, Kame-senin & Sanji, Buggy & Pilaf, etc. Granted it wasn't action packed, but that's not really the point. It's just a nice, funny one-shot. What I'm hoping though is that Toei definitely fills in some more scenes if it were to get animated.

For example, Luffy stated he was off in some adventure before meeting up with Shenlong & the gang. Maybe they can show that or a glimpse of it. Have Goku & Vegeta duke it out in a short battle before heading off. The possibilities are endless. Personally, if they can think of good enough material, it'd make a nice TV special perhaps.
