Am I the only one who wants Grandpa Gohan to appear again?

Everyone is hyped up for Son Gohan's return to power in the Universe Survival arc, and I'm just sitting here wondering when we can see that kind-hearted old man again. I'd love to see him at the very least make a cameo in Super or in something Dragon ball related that's new. I'm not saying to bring him back to life, but have him show up for one day like Goku was supposed to in the Buu saga. Have him interact with Gohan, Goten, Roshi etc.

What do you guys think? Do you want to see Grandpa Gohan again?

He's one of my favorite characters, for some reason. I'd love just to see him again. Not get brought back to life, just a visit.

Goku's very different from when he was a kid, he sure felt more empathy at the start of DB, he worried about doing the right thing (saved Lunch from the bad guys (cops), revived Upa's dad, tried to treat girls nicely because his grandpa advised him to, among other things).

Anyway, I'd like that grandpa Gohan and Gine appeared at least in one episode, I'd watch it for sure.

Given all the nostalgia pandering in Super (for better or worse) I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up.
I fear though that like a few of the OG DB elements that appeared in Super, he'd feel shoehorned if they don't give him a good reason to appear. These ~2 years in the pre-EOZ 10 year period are already so unusually eventful compared to the rest of DB timeline.

Deep down, I have always wished for a meeting between Son Gohan and Son Gohan just to see what it would be like for great grandfather and great grandson namesakes to finally meet and get to know each other, even if just for a short while.

I think if anyone's left who can knock some sense back into Gokû, his Grandpa Gohan would be among the few who could do it. So yes, I'd be up for him reappearing.

I'd love to see Grandpa Gohan's reaction to Goku's growing family and to how strong his little Goku has become. I'm sure it would be really heartwarming.

I think you're forgetting that Lunch was in the wrong. Goku & Kuririn, as far as the police department is concerned, assisted an escaping criminal.

Anyway, I like to think that Goku visited Gohan in Heaven. He's one of the few individuals Goku completely respects & he wouldn't shy away from proving he followed his teachings. He's one of my favorite characters but I'm content with his lacking appearances. The sendoff he had a with a younger Goku perfectly works in my eyes.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. In hindsight, Toei was seemingly fine with bringing Grandpa Gohan back to the show during the Wedding Dress arc of DB. It's odd that they never had that idea again, especially during Goku's 7 year... uh, "vacation." Did Goku ever apologize to his Grandpa like he promised?

On the subject of other characters having never shown up in the afterlife (Gine, Bardock, Raditz): Goku, Tenshinhan, Chiaotzu, Yamcha, Piccolo, Vegeta, Kaio and Grandpa Gohan are all given special permission to keep their bodies - even Freeza gets his own special little place in Hell! ...but if I'm not mistaken, souls are typically stripped from their bodies/personality and categorized to depart for either Hell or Heaven by Enma Daio. The anime likes to show off characters in Hell AND Heaven with their own bodies, personality and all - but it leaves a huge inconsistency for how the afterlife supposedly works... that being said, we shouldn't be able to see Gine, Bardock, Raditz, Cell, Dr. Gero, etc. in any afterlife scenario, as they've essentially ceased to be recognizable in any way.

...I should have fact-checked this before posting, but it's food for thought anyway. I'm gonna go read up on it to double check. Feel free to correct me on stuff.
