The letter "Z" in-universe
The letter "Z" in-universe
What does it mean? There's a TV station/company called Z TV. That isn't strange. But then there's the Z Sword, and why would the Z Warriors call themselves that as well?
What significance could the letter have in-universe?

They don't. The term is never actually used in-universe.Dorexx wrote:why would the Z Warriors call themselves that as well?
I don't think it's ever explained where the "Z Sword" got its name. It's probably just supposed to sound cool or something.
Re: The letter "Z" in-universe
Z-TV: The end-all-be-all of news. You can bet on their credibility. You won't need to check out another channel to get the complete story of whatever's happening around the world. So, it'd be the last channel you'd watch before you get the full news.
Z-Sword: Once you master the sword, you are certainly going to be able to end your opponent.
Z-Sword: The Z-warriors wasn't actually used in-universe, but it could possibly have to do something with them being the last line of defense of the Earth.
I would think the letter "Z" signifies "end" and "final" in-universe as well as out-of-universe. So that's why it could be used for these instances.
That, and also the fact that "X" and "Z" have got to be the coolest sounding alphabets in English, at least in my opinion.

You accidentally said Z sword twice.DBZ Macky wrote:Z-TV: The end-all-be-all of news. You can bet on their credibility. I think a better question is "why do the Kaioshin have the same alphabet as the Earthlings?"

Re: The letter "Z" in-universe
I think the Z Sword was probably the whole "Z" part of the DBZ title seeping into the story. The manga was not called "Dragon Ball Z", but a writer can reference an earlier adaptation when he's continuing producing his source material. The Harry Potter books written after the movie series started going had some tiny meta jokes about the movies.
Do whatever you like, ghost.

Such as? I'm drawing a blank.

One I recall is that Ron was mistakenly called Rupert as a reference to his actor in the films.MasenkoHA wrote:Beek King wrote: The Harry Potter books written after the movie series started going had some tiny meta jokes about the movies.
