Looks like Toppo is going be be pretty powerful if his battle with Goku is enough to get our saiyan worried about the tournaments outcome.

Yeah. It makes me think that scene in the NEP where Toppo is restraining Goku is near the end of their fight just before it gets interrupted.

I've got to wonder if this will effect Goku's attitude towards the whole event.

Looks like Goku isn't recruiting everyone himself.

Goku is already confirmed to recruit Kuririn, 18, 17 and Vegeta. So I'm guessing Gohan gets Piccolo, they look for Tien together, then when that's all done, they'll probably rendezvous back to Roshi's house to get him last.

I hope half an episode of screen time is given to the recruitment of every single member. That's the best way for it to happen IMO (Though realistically I totally see Vegeta and 17 getting whole episodes to themselves).

I wouldnt take that description about Goku being worried as a serious thing, at best it will be the same as his reaction when he found out about the universes getting destroyed if you lose, more in lines of what Doctor said.

That can't be any clearer, Toppo's power is enough to make Goku thing "this ain't gonna be easy". Toppo, going by the preview, easily overpower SS Goku and forces Goku to go SSB. Thats pretty different from his fight with Bergamo were Goku was just playing the whole time.

That doesn't mean he'll be worried though. Knowing Goku it'll just confirm there will be strong guys there and he'll get excited about it.

But it will also, hopefully, make him take this a bit more seriously since a win in not guarantied.

Also this is the first Battle Royal type of fight Goku's ever been in right? Also he's never been in a big brawl with tones of enemies before, the most he's taken on were groups of 3 and one of 5. While its nothing he cannot handle it will be nice him in action under those conditions.

I thought the reason why Goku was surprised was because of the huge difference Freeza has become compared to his past self, like him being "how in the world did you get that strong when it took me years in other world and training with an angel to get to this level?" we cant blame him since we were all kinda fcked up as well with how strong he got just for training.
I took Toppo's surprised face weird since he definitely saw Goku go SSJBKK against Bergamo, why get surprised again? either it was surprising for him seeing it up close and didnt know what he got himself into OR Goku was giving out a dialogue that surprised Toppo.

This is my point, people are too quick to make snap judgments based on one clip from a preview that has not context. The same with that RoF I posted, out of context it really dose look like Goku's scared of Frieza, but in the story its because "Wow how did he get this strong so fast" and simile moments have been scattered all through the series were characters look worried but in truth are in no danger. For example in the anime Goku's reaction to 100% Frieza, Goku reacting to Nappa's power after they clash or Piccolo's reaction to Cell's initial power and use of the Kamehameha. A few beads of sweat and a shocked look dose not mean "I'm gonna lose".

Probably a Warp Kamehameha situation where Goku pulls a surprising manuver. Cell wasn't scared in that fight, he was just thinking "Shit, you can DO THAT!?"

Possibly. He could still have a craving and desire for this challenge but become a lot more cautious due to how strong some of these guys really are.

It's not necessarily saying it. It's more so saying Goku is taking to heart more so now just how strong some of these guys are, but not necessarily means he has to be worried of his chances. One of those things we'll just have to see.
