Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
After reading the chapter translated, I like it. Vegeta's tactic to fight Black was well thought out. He made Black believe that he was beating him with God, when in reality, it was in Blue. But it was in a fashion so Vegeta could still not waste any stamina from being in Blue. Also, Goku putting damage control on Zamasu was hilarious. Goku also being aware of the fusion was something good to see.
Only flaws I would have is Black being completely humiliated. Nonetheless, I'm not that much of a Black fan to be upset over it.
7.8/10

I'm really weirded out by Toyo's Goku, its like he was playing mind games against Zamasu....mfwlegend3 wrote:Goku telling Zamasu that he was likely being used by Black reminded me of when he told Buu that he was merely a pawn used by Babidi, despite being stronger.

What? He clearly understands what SSGod is, he even says it's a lower level form. What he doesn't understand is Vegeta's technique of briefly flashing into Blue.OLKv3 wrote:No it doesn't, that's just head canon.TheUltimateNinja wrote:Black has no problems with Rose, and getting an advanced God form automatically grants you the lower level as well since Vegeta apparently had God before this.OLKv3 wrote: Because learning SSG is a whole other thing. We have absolutely no idea how or when Vegeta got SSG. Just like we have no idea how or when Goku mastered SSG
Not to mention in this very chapter Black admits he doesn't understand SSG when he whines at Vegeta for using it against him

In the Buu Saga, both Goku and Vegeta were pretty worn out after fighting Buuhan, but when they fused, Vegito was completely fine.SansrivaaL wrote:Refresh my memory but does fusing replenish their stamina? cause if not... they're still fcked, there are no more senzu's...TheUltimateNinja wrote:I wonder how fusion will work out now that Goku's much weaker than Vegeta.
There's still no tension at all since they can fuse at any time and win easily.TheMikado wrote:
That's weird seeing them in a spot like that considering someone told me the manga lacks tension.

Free reminder that you can't do this, guys and gals. The only links to full material, be it chapters or episodes, are those provided by official sources like Shueshia or Viz. Repeat offenses will see account strikes issued, which can and do add up to bans from the entire website.mfwlegend3 wrote:Here's the full chapter.
Looks like I was on point for the most part excluding Black being upset with Zamasu attacking Vegeta.

Why didn't Vegeta catch on about the Potara? He should know.

This is Goku's body post ritual. Why wouldn't he have it? Didn't Zamasu see Goku using God? The Zamasu that became Black must at least be aware of God and Blue, since the split was caused by Beers and Zamasu saw everything before it.OLKv3 wrote:Goku kept it due to ritual. Black never did the ritual. Why would he have it?MathSSJ wrote:Doesn't really work because in Toyotaro's continuity Goku's body already kept God due to the ritual. Black should have the form since he is already strong enough. Not like it matters too much because none of Blue's weaknesses seem to apply to his variant, rendering God moot.OLKv3 wrote: Because learning SSG is a whole other thing. Also, Vegeta didn't master Blue. He still has issues using it.
Also, Vegeta did master it. He stopped the transformation cost. Mastering it doesn't erase the other strain though, the one from keeping it on. Apparently it's like SSJ3 now, which was probably introduced to explain why Vegetto will defuse next chapter. This strain wasn't in the U6 arc, so SSB seemingly got retconned yet again
Also, huh? Black had a full day of rest inbetween his SSR uses, so he wouldn't have any negative drawbacks because the drawback was using it consecutively.
Yet Toyotaro just retconned that Blue drains a lot of Ki, so that should affect Black too right? Rosé is directly stated to be Blue in the manga and Goku says Vegeta trained to reduce the strain and all on Blue, why is there not even a hint of Rosé affecting Black? Why does he just gets to ignore the rules that Toyotaro himself establishes? Also, huh? He explained why he doesn't have Goku's abilities 2 chapters ago, reread ch 20. He had to relearn all of Goku's abilities, it took him a while to even learn SSJ. He skipped God and went straight to Rose, learning it on the spot after gaining a zenkaiMathSSJ wrote:This is Goku's body post ritual. Why wouldn't he have it? Didn't Zamasu see Goku using God? For the SSB strain, he probably does have it, but since he's stronger than Vegeta, he'd last longer. Or maybe he doesn't have strain because he's still a god? I don't know, in both the anime and manga, Black always has his own special snowflake properties that legit Saiyans don't have

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Really enjoyed the chapter. Vegeta's use of Super Saiyan God makes a good deal of sense, and I liked the analogy to Goku's strategy vs Hit.
The Mafuba failed, but due to no fault of Goku (other than checking the talisman I suppose). The more non-generic beam attacks Goku has in his arsenal, the more interesting he is as a character in combat.
I liked the tension between Zamasu and Black. The manner in which they were backed into a corner seemed more natural than the anime, which was more abrupt (which isn't necessarily worse, because their overconfidence was shattered there as well).
A few people a couple pages back (was skimming, didn't see any names) wondered why Black didn't use the same technique (remaining in Super Saiyan God while using Blue/Rosé in bursts), and I honestly don't have a solid in-universe answer. He *should* have that form since Vegeta does, other than guessing that it requires a ton of practice (it wasn't clear if Vegeta had achieved it in the ROSAT or off-screen from the ritual/training with Whis a long time back)? I don't know.

That Zamasu freakout was pretty hilarious.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread
Since the Super manga has never had Potara before he had to introduce it through clunky build up. If Toyotaro was a smarter writer it would have been Trunks who was confused.Doctor. wrote:Why didn't Vegeta catch on about the Potara? He should know.

Same reason I guess Freeza did. To get his jollies. Though Freeza at least said he could kill everyone in his present state, but though doing it in his final state would be more horrifying and satisfying.Doctor. wrote:Wait. Why did Black go Rosé to fight Trunks?
Vegeta having a big inflated ego while winning, and not noticing the bigger picture. Stop the fucking pressesDoctor. wrote:Why didn't Vegeta catch on about the Potara? He should know.
