I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the fact that Goku and Vegeta seem to have held hands again this chapter (without resistance from Vegeta).

I think there's a high chance that Vegetto/Gogeta will be the one to destroy Zmasu's body before Goku calls in Zeno to finish his spirit.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I wouldn't be surprised if Toyotaro doesn't have Vegetto separate because of the time limit but instead has them wish to be separated by the Dragon Balls like Shin and Kibito had in earlier chapters.

What if Goku, Vegeta and Trunks simply try to beat Merged Zamasu yet prove to be no match at all. So Goku uses the button and Zeno just kills him.

What if Merged Zamasu being "killed" and then that really bizarre sort of out of place cloud bodiless Zamasu was all just a Toei thing?
Wrong thread, mate.
No it's not. It's hypothesising about the manga so it's perfect for this thread. Besides, that thread isn't dedicated to hypotheses. It's more about changing events that have already happened .

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I kinda am now after looking things over on the side of the heroes being mostly better in the manga (Cept for Trunks who while not being a Mary Sue, doesn't leave much of a lasting impression), while the villains in the anime were so much better. Specifically Black. Though I think both will drop the ball with Merged Zamasu as really he became boring once they fused. Black was just so much more interesting teaming up with Zamasu, than becoming one with him. Though if I had to choose a gap. The villain quality gap is bigger than the hero quality one.

How about Vegeta fusing with Trunks instead? I mean Vegeta is already stronger than Black and Trunks is stronger than Future Zamasu.

I don't expect a surprise in regards to the overall plot; timeline being destroyed with the intervention from Zeno-chan. I predict a Super Saiyan God Vegeta type of novelty.

I'd honestly like to see that....though I just don't want that potara weakness crap. I really hate it. I could tolerate the dragon balls defusing it...even if really it should have been Super DB's only, but ugh the 1 hour crap....I just don't like it personally.

I'm not a fan because then you literally keep asking the question "why don't they just fuse?" I mean they went out of their way to cover that base in BoGs so now that they could do it anytime and not have any lasting consequences there's no reason not to spam it for every life threatening situation.

It's literally the other way around. If the fusion wears off in 5 minutes (or less, depending on how much power you have/use), then there's no reason to fuse. If it's permanent and can be undone with the Dragon Balls, then why don't they fuse?

I don't get the complaint. It fixes more things than it breaks.

45 minutes is still better than fusion and plenty of time to get shit done if they knew the weakness ahead of time. No reason to not exploit the hell out of it. It lasts much better than Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta did.

What 45 minutes? It lasted like 5 minutes at best and they unfused the moment they used a powerful attack like the Final Kamehameha. It's useless now.

No they literally said it hadn't been even like 45 minutes or something like that. Nowhere do they mention it lasted only 5 minutes as far as I am aware of.

All I remember is Shin saying it hasn't been an hour and Gowasu stating the fusion time was shortened due to their Ki output. Going by episode time, it was 5 minutes. SS3 Gotenks was 5 minutes, so why would this be longer?

With the new SSB stamina weakness, I think we will see SSB Vegetto like in the anime, but his time will be reduced because of SSB instead of the Final Kamehameha.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Well no, it's worse than useless it's arbitrary. We have no idea how long it's supposed to last as SSB. If it's ever used again they will ALWAYS defuse at the most plot convenient moment.

Nothing says it was 5 minutes. Not to mention Potara fusion and metamorese fusion are two different things. If it was such a short time, then it'd be mentioned it was like 5 minutes. All we know from the characters was that it was less than an hour. That's it. I looked at the dialogue. Using episode time is never a good indicator. Somethings are faster or longer in that said indicated time. Need we mention the infamous Goku Freeza battle XD.

Possibly. Though perhaps we'll know how long the potara fusion actually lasts, since only less than an hour is said. No note of 5 minutes or less. Maybe they'll say such a thing in the manga to let us know.

It still doesn't matter. We know the reason they defused was the Final Kamehameha. Using a strong attack makes Vegetto go poof. So, Vegetto's useless. They could have gone about it better, but it's a good thing they nerfed him. The question of "why don't they fuse?" should have been on everyone's mind the moment Boo turned to their side and the Dragon Balls were revealed to be able to defuse.

We know it was basically for the same reason as SSJ4 Gogeta. Being so powerful it basically drastically reduced their time. I get that more than just one attack. Vegetto is so broken now he can be shit out whenever now. I don't think it was just because he fired the kamehameha. He was already nerfed from the sense of how irreversible it was supposed to be to being usable whenever. There comes the factor of if Boo can do that trick his other side did, which he possibly could like GT style, and on Vegetto himself potentially. Though even IF I want to believe he was heavily nerfed, then they just made potara, just yet another power up and nothing else. Ruining a special item into generic fusion 2.

I completely missed that.
Cheers me up though.
I'm sad that they're drifting apart in the anime.
