Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Other than krillin vs basil, this episode looked weird honestly. I absolutely hated the closeups and the uninteresting story boarding. This was supposed to be memorable since it shows bura's birth but I'm disappointed. Next one is yet another Yashima, give the guy a break.
Feel free to correct me if I say something wrong.

Wait, Yashima wasn't on this one? weird, I swear I saw him multiple times, must just be a TAP animator that draws like him.
Glad to see that this is another episode that is almost entirely outsourced, each time this happens it makes me feel a bit better about the coming action.

Another outsourced episod, great. Mostly TAP I would imagine, based on the staff list.

What? There was some fantastic storyboarded shots in this episode, and honestly everything was fine on it.Shreyas_Singh wrote:Other than krillin vs basil, this episode looked weird honestly. When have baby births been memorable in Dragonball ?Shreyas_Singh wrote:Other than krillin vs basil, this episode looked weird honestly. I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Good episode.
Some of the characters looked extremely Z (especially Goku and Gohan's bodies), which was great.
As expected a nice and slow episode and more outsourcing. Good good. So unless the production is ruined (nobody wants that) then we might get that "all star 2 parter" in the end.
On another note, did anyone check Tiger mask w? Daaaaamn that show is pure gold and the latest episode was unbelievable.

I remember seeing a shot of Goku having Luffy's face in this episode, but besides that, all the characters looked good all the time, thankfully.Mazingerdestro wrote:Good episode.

The NEP being pretty much entirely non-corrected Yashima is interesting, I would have thought that with Tsuji being so light last week we'd see her very heavily on 84.
Makes me wonder if she's focused on a big episode right now, or if she might even supervise an episode.

Why can't we get that combo for super??????Archah wrote:Watanabe Koudai, Imaki Hiroaki and Sugie Toshiharu did KA.Mazingerdestro wrote:On another note, did anyone check Tiger mask w? Daaaaamn that show is pure gold and the latest episode was unbelievable.
That show gets so much love in the animation department while the storyboards look interesting and the story is deep. It's a masterpiece. This episode alone could be split in 2 parts and the excitement wouldn't drop even for a second. The ending was just.......omg. I have to admit, it's been a long time since I get so excited for a show.
The last Tiger the Dark shot made him look like a tekken character
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
It will be interesting to see how the Next episode is handled. Also, was that Yashima doing the action? I don't think that was Higashide.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Schedule maybe, but now that things are better and Tiger Mask is ending (production obviously), maybe we are getting some of those animators por this arc/next arc.Mazingerdestro wrote:Why can't we get that combo for super??????Archah wrote:Watanabe Koudai, Imaki Hiroaki and Sugie Toshiharu did KA.Mazingerdestro wrote:On another note, did anyone check Tiger mask w? That action was 100% Yashima.Sodhi wrote:It will be interesting to see how the Next episode is handled. Also, was that Yashima doing the action? I don't think that was Higashide.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Yea, that's what I figured. Yashima is sure doing a lot lately.

The animation in the NEP actually looks fairly decent, especially considering it's Yashima.
Some semi-faraway shots are sorta jarring, but as a whole it looks fine.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Am I the only one who isn't at all liking the way Gohan is being drawn? Every episode it feels like nobody can decide exactly how to draw him. His eyes especially seem to confuse the staff as they switch size and shape regularly for no apparent reason.
The artwork as a whole wasn't that great this episode, though that's understandable for such a lowkey entry. The nep shows off some cool action though. Anyone know who's supervising? I got a bit of a Yashima feeling from it myself, but I don't really trust my noob self in that particular regard.

Absolutely, I'm not a fan of Gohan's model at all. I wish they'd have defaulted to the Boo Arc models for this arc, or at least had Yamamuro crank out something better than what we have.Octorockandroll wrote:Am I the only one who isn't at all liking the way Gohan is being drawn?

Right? If they can do it with Satan why not the old expert tax collector? I mean he would have had better hair.Jinzoningen MULE wrote:Absolutely, I'm not a fan of Gohan's model at all. Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 82
Wow that staff list. Another heavily outsourced episode. Only a few animators from the core Toei staff. That's nice to see. These past few episodes have been so different unlike what we have seen before in terms of staff on Super. Hope that the important episodes turn out great.
Overall a decent episode. Nothing crazy but it was still fine for a dialogue heavy episode.
