Toei have an obsession with Piccolo and Gohan not Toriyama.
Now I wait for Gohan to say how strong Piccolo has got.
I'm pretty sure Toriyama would have gotten Gohan to go to Piccolo in this situation regardless. There were Piccolo and Gohan moments in the cell saga and the boo saga too. Heck Toriyama was the one who made Gohan help Piccolo in Rof.
You should be happy, Gohans like the only one who genuinely likes the guy .
I don't care who likes who. Also wouldn't Vegeta be in the same situation.
I like interactions between all characters and do not like that it is only Goku with Vegeta and Piccolo with Gohan or any other type of little group.

Their relationship isn't something that just got added in by Toei. Amplified with some filler? Perhaps. But the whole thing of them being like family was already there. That's Toriyama's stuff. It's logical that Gohan would be the one going.

I would honestly say that you should. The feelings of the characters obviously matter a lot as to how and why they act a certain way towards people and their communication.

Toei act as if Piccolo and Goku barely know each other. The problem is that Piccolo hardly interacts with anyone apart from Gohan now and the same thing with Goku and Vegeta in Super.
No I shouldn't care about that. I only care about them having fun interactions and having good fights as this is a fighting show not some kind of reality show. I want them to mix who interacts with who. In the tournament I expect a lot of different combinations.

I can agree with that. I'm getting tired of some of the ones we already of have, but Piccolo and Gohan talking is something I always like to see.
Those fun interactions can't just fly up out of nowhere though. Using what's already been established and building them up doesn't make something a "reality show". For example, it wouldn't have made sense for Bulma to just randomly start chatting up with Piccolo in the Saiyan arc like they're best friends. You can't just throw that together without any context whatsoever.
I'm not saying there shouldn't be different combinations in the tournament, but I don't just want em thrown together without anything behind it

Did anyone see Herms new update?
I'm kinda curious what the other Gods of Destruction will do behind U7s back. It sounds like it's going to potentially be a long 40 hours

Piccolo could easily interact with Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Krillin, Tien and 17 in team Universe 7 and no one would say a thing. This is similar for the majority of characters.
There os a lack of variety in Dragon ball right now on many topics.

Gohans the one who makes most sense to recruit piccolo though. The others will have plenty of interactions later on. This arcs already giving us Goku and boo, Gohan and Boo, Mr Satan and the son family, Gohan with Goten and Trunks, Gohan and Beerus and other relationships we don't see often.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Hopefully they do and definetly during the tournament itself. The interactions between the characters is the main reason why we need all 10 fighters to last quite long in the actual tournament.

Episode 85 sounds like it'll be quite fun of an episode. Gohan and Piccolo training, the Gods and Kais having a meeting and the plot against Goku, and Goku vs. Majin Boo hype. Definitely the episode I'm most excited for, even more than 17. Though Goku and 17 meeting for the first time is really, really making more and more excited for 86.

No they don't. I do agree that characters interacting with more people should happen, though it makes perfect sense why Gohan is going to train with Piccolo over Goku. As for me personally, I'd love to see Goku train with Piccolo, but not as much as I love the idea of Goku training with Boo.

I don't see the problem? Gohan and Piccolo's relationship has been a long running thing. Plus Goku is already sparring with Buu in that episode.

Exactly, I don't see why Goku has to do everything. Besides we all know Gohan is going to job, the least he could do is ask for some company to job right along with him.

Man, these previews make me wanna skip Episode 84 entirely.
Really interested to see how the Kaioshin are gonna get together and how the Hakaishin are leaving Beerus out of it.
For a second I thought they were gonna attack Goku's actual home

Correction Mikado, almost everyone of U7 will more than likely job.

I love how Goku's being all bubbly with Boo, I enjoyed it back in U6 arc when he first thought of Boo and bribed him to participate, Goku and Boo's interactions are the least developed because DB ended at Boo arc with barely the two of them interacting as friends, 17 is another case tho, has 17 interacted with Goku before? 18 had back in Boo arc prelimes and called him an idiot 2x because of being surprised about her around with the gang.
Also.... the boogie ending comes out this coming ep right? God I hope the visuals help out with the 90's vibe song.
Just reading the summaries are entertaining enough, everyone is out to get U7 or to be more precise... Goku, well.. at least you get your wish, you want them to come at you with full force, thou ask shall receive.

There has been no confirmation of them training. It will have to be in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber if it is too happen. Piccolo must be training somewhere ij the mountains when Gohan meets him as he is obviously not at Dende's as that is where Goku is going.

No. 86 will be the first time Goku and 17 interacting. I agree with Boo. Goku is like Boo's only friend of the U7 team. It's nice to see them interact and how Goku values Boo.

Can we really call that a tournament?
All against one doesn't really stop it from being a tournament. If you ask me, it stopped being a tournament when it became one timed battle royale.
I mean, it doesn't fit the definition (key: "series of games").
You can fly. Just not outside the ring.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

I wonder how Tenshinhan will be invited, because honestly I thought Goku and the gang forgot about him since he's rarely ever there with them.
