If you're not interested in a discussion, it's perfectly OK to just not post in the thread. Other folks are free to enjoy themselves and the discussion.

In terms of design, I agree that Super Saiyan 4 is pretty neat. I like how Nakatsuru adapted all the lore he could to bring something totally different into the fold. It's absolutely unique, though I'd argue it works best on Goku.

That being said, I really like Toriyama's idea about bringing things back to basics with Super Saiyan God. Unfortunately, everything about it has essentially been left in the dust as they moved onto Blue (even acknowledging its re-appearance in Toyotaro's comicalization).

They're in a pretty tough spot right now with regard to transformations. Battle of Gods really seemed like the logical place to go post-GT, but as they all collectively decided to move forward... I don't envy that position (in terms of marketing, design, consistency, etc.).

TBH I wouldn't really call ssj blue a new form. Its just ssj with god ki(hence the blue color). SSG was a new form tho.

Ssj4, is awesome looking, better than ssg and definitely ssj blue.

Innovative in appearance perhaps, but in concept? Not really.

The whole god concept was new and fresh, while SSj4 just harkened back to the Saiyans' monkey heritage - the same one that Toriyama has made a clear effort to steer away from.

Nope.

I love the concept and the looks, but the whole deal with the magic clothes isn't well thought at all. Even with that, the fact that it goes back to the monkey side of the Saiyans is too cool.

I absolutely hate the God forms. The colors themselves arent' the best, and with Toei's awful aesthetics they just look horrible.

Its different, yes but it also makes the characters almost unrecognizable of who they are. I find it weird in the transformation that it get rids of the shirts and shows monkey chest  Also, it adds red eyeliner :|

At least SSJ1 - SSJ3 were cool (even with SSJ3 eyebrow removal) Spikier Golden hair, green eyes and a bit more of muscle for the win

About the forms in Super, I'm neutral to them except maybe from Rosé, but thats because the clothes match the colors of the hair and aura, also the character was cool.

I agree they are all repaintings of the original SSJ form though... (except SSJG which is a repainting of base with thinier body)

I think that the idea of a transformation beyond Oozaru is a cool idea, but I think the design of Super Saiyan 4 looks very dated. While SSB is basically a pallet swap for Super Saiyan, I think it looks better and I like the concept just as much.

I always found Super Saiyan 4 to be a hideous transframation and I hate it more with age. The concept behind it was cool and original, the actual form can burn.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

Can't Ki make clothes? Like when Piccolo did it for Gohan.

Its simply, I like SSJ4 the most. Also, they don't need to make more form after SSJ4. It make sense that Sayajins will get stronger by increase their strenght in base form and Kaio-ken boost, complete control God Ki at higher transformation from 1-4...

SSJG with thin body and Red hair is oke. But Super could make it better if they didnot change the hair's color to "Blue". The way will turn to SSJ with many colors more is decomplex.. The aura changed to blue like Future Trunks (instead of blue hair) is better idea for God Ki. Kaio-ken in God Ki might turn their aura to red or purple...

What you are stating OP, is a truth not an opinion.
SSJ4 is more creative than just blue hair.

No ssj4 is obviously better than Ssjg and blue for the fact its not a shitty ass recoloring you see on deviant art.

I have to agree that "Super Saiyan 4" is better as far as innovative designs go and it's a personal favorite of mine, but I also like it for a slightly different reason than I've ever seen anyone else mention.

Whether intentional or not, it brings to mind the Monkey King himself, Sun Wukong. Dragon Ball being loosely based on Journey to the West has been a subject of interest to me for a long time and whenever I see Super Saiyan 4 it's like Son Goku came full circle. Even that "red eyeliner" people criticize is something I often see in the many depictions of Sun Wukong that exist. The only thing he's missing at this point is the magical headband and tiger skin.

It definitely doesn't work so well for Vegeta, however....
