I think Goku is usually drawn pretty well actually. He's one of the most consistent along with Beerus, Whis, Champa, and Vados. I think Gohan looks off a lot of the time though. I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

You're kidding, right? Goku and especially Beerus are the ones who often look weird in Super. I remember back in Future Trunks arc people mocking that Black was always consistent better drawn than Goku.

Eh, I disagree that Beerus is drawn bad. Maybe it's because I think he looks good even when off model.Noah wrote:kinisking wrote:I think Goku is usually drawn pretty well actually. He's one of the most consistent along with Beerus.![]()

That's true but I still think Goku is drawn well a lot of the time.

Are they making a new anime with Yamammuro's brother?

I agree there are actually quite a lot of good Goku shots in the show, base, transformations etc. My only complaint is the shading in his base hair, pure jet black would make it look so much better.kinisking wrote:I think Goku is usually drawn pretty well actually. Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters just got a new OP and ED. There were some familiar faces involved.
For the OP, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru and Ken Otsuka popped up, and for the ED, our bestest bud Naoki Tate contributed.
Picking out Tate's work was pretty easy. There wasn't anything too strenuous in there, so I can't see it impacting Super in any significant way.
The opening isn't particularly wild, either. I only mention it since it's nice to keep track of where our staff (or at least people somewhat involved) are.
EDIT: Oh, they're already on the booru if you want to take a look: OP & ED.

Similar stuff could be said about Otsuka's bit, that's a very simple animation, so Otsuka could very well pop up fairly soon on Super.Ajay wrote:Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters just got a new OP and ED. There were some familiar faces involved.

Seeing Nakatsuru show up on Toei properties is always nice, I just wish he'd pop in on Super from time to time.
There was no Shida in the new OP? Fingers crossed he's working on some Super animation right now.
Appli Monsters getting a new OP and ED at the start of its third cour makes me think it will be a 4 cour show, which is fairly typical for Digimon.

Somehow Tate is able to deliver something like this in a short time, it's not long but I think it's a pretty good scene.Ajay wrote:Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters just got a new OP and ED. There were some familiar faces involved.

Tate work is always rougher in Super. I guess the designs might be the answer to this...
If you give Tate the same amounts of time and the same thing but replace the designs with Goku amd others, I bet it'd look rough and stiffy.
Like someone said, it's like we're forbidden to get something good. All I'm imagining is replacing these characters with DB, so I can enjoy them even if they aren't DB material. Lol.

It's an ending, It has to look great and Tate has to stick with the designs 100%, and it may have some corrections. The same thing happened in Super. In OP 1, Tate is in the staff list but his work there is unrecognizable.Gashif Aldi wrote:

I heard the Digimon series is 52 episodes total. Also there is a precure movie coming out in October and Digimon Tri 5 movie sometime soon. However Tiger Mask should be ending in July. We could use some of their staff

-Nagamine Tatsuya-
Finally watched One Piece TV Special Heart of Gold. I already had saw the Movie.
I got completely blown away by the overall quality. One Piece TV Specials usually look great, but this one wow...just wow! And this was supposed to be "just" a TV Special.
They got a TV Special (1h:44) of that quality + Film Gold (2h). WTF?! That fanbase is so spoiled. What about us?!
What caught my attention were the colors that reminded me of the filter we are having in this arc. Looks like one of our new directors, Nagamine Tatsuya, was the director of this. Just like he was for One Piece Film Z, which still is my favourite One Piece Movie. I'm now even more hyped to see him working in Dragon Ball.
We may have lost Hatano Morio, but we still got a great director. And we still have Nakamura Ryota too.

4 out of 5 Super's directors are one of the Toei's best. They all just keep leaving, hopefully the two we have stay for a long time, if not till the end.

Yeah, I really hope they stay for a long time. The only situation that would make me not upset if they left in the nearish future would be if it was because a completely different set of staff was working ahead on a future arc, or a sequel series to Super.Sodhi wrote:4 out of 5 Super's directors are one of the Toei's best. The TV special wasn't that great (in terms of animation), I remember vividly the only standout moment was the Shida cut at the end.

This was a damn fine looking episode. Extremely polished art from start to finish. The fight between Gohan and Krillin didn't even look all that bad in motion. But the scuffle between Goku in his base form and Krillin was the highlight of the episode. It was really damn good.
The new ED looked... serviceable.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 83
I expected a MUCH rougher episode, but that was pretty damn good.
Tsuiji help most of the episode obviously, but Yashima's uncorrected art was a lot better than I expected, only occasionally looking bad and some of it was actually kinda pleasant.
Who the hell animated the base Goku vs Krillin fight? The movement on the part with Goku flipping around was way too good to be Yashima.
ED was great, NEP looked solid enough.

Episode 84
Key animator
Yashima Yoshitaka Higashide Futoshi
2nd key animator
Yokoyama Miyuki Tu Yeong-chaek Suzuki Kai A-Line TAP
I really enjoyed that, actually. Pretty good work all around. Most of Yashima's janky character art was corrected by Tsuji, so it was only a few shots that disrupted the flow of very consistent character art.
Higashide handled the vast majority of the action in the second half, though there's a few things by him in the first, too. As always, he produces great work on any schedule. The guy isn't human.
Second key animation by Yokoyama stands out in the second half pretty clearly.
New ED was soloed by Yamamuro, and honestly, I dig it. No complaints.
