I don't understand what's the fuss of not including Yamcha ? he never helped in DBZ and is always the first to go down in saiyan saga and android saga too,in Buu saga it was pretty clear that he gave up on fighting not to mention he didn't even try to fight Beerus with other fighters when they attacked him and told Krillin to leave him Marron and go fight,and he didn't go to help with the Frieza soldiers while Roshi did so how is he going to be useful in the tournament anyway ? i understand people wanting Goten and Trunks to be on the team but Yamcha ?

Yamcha could be useful, because he has a variety of techniques like the spirit Ball,is Good for tricking opponents, and he has experience, but I guess roshi is more reliable than Yamcha despite being weaker, whatever , but I'll give the Master a pass, since Goku said this, This isn't a contest of Power

The fuss is that Yamcha is leagues above Roshi and the treatment he got in the last episode was pretty bad, like Toei used to exaggerate his feats in fillers back in Z now looks like they gave up to memes on internet "durr... hurr... Yamcha is incompetent and weak", "Nobody cares about Yamcha", "Look to his death pose" and etc.

He willing to participate of a Tournament waiting for an invite even though the audience know he certainly will not, it's kinda of a sad joke.

Oh my god, you're right! How could I forget how characters get stronger in Super, just by willpower! So even though Roshi not even had 200 BP in the Saiyan arc and spent the next 20 years doing nothing besides watching porn and reading magazines he managed to surpass Yamcha who was likely stronger than the Ginyu Force in his peak, quite impressive.
