It was actually very refreshing to see Goku take pleasure in sitting back and watching someone else fight, something he actually commonly does.

...not anymore. Remember DB Super ep. 74 when Goku stated that watching the fighting in the Saiyaman movie bored him?

Because they were staged fights, on a level way below him. He would have about as much fun watching a fight in a movie as he would watching Mr. Satan fight.

He enjoyed the Cell Games reenactment.

While I don't want to watch Super (at least, not the subpar BoG retelling stuff), it's things like this that make me hate April Fools, because why ruin a good schedule just for the sake of an unfunny joke (especially when my TV Guide still shows Super as airing)? Of course it's not the end of the world, but it's annoying and unnecessary.

It's like whenever a website completely changes their layout, or even closes up for the sake of a crappy joke all day.

I was expecting to get out of this April Fools without a single thing annoying me (and yes, I'm saying it's just an annoyance. I'm not blowing it out of proportion and equating it to the end of the world, just in case someone decides to accuse me of doing such). I foe people all the time, even if it's something minor, so even if I do, it's not a big deal. I always end up reading their posts anyway, so I don't know why I bother.

Unfortunately, TFC just had a "Dude! My truck!" moment with the announcer saying something about Spopovich being a "human meat bag", and then saying "that was terrible! Who writes my lines?"

Definitely not funny, and was unnecessary.

The rest of the episode was great though. I loved seeing how serious Goku got when he saw how oddly powerful Spopovitch was.

When Kaioshin revealed himself to Piccolo, I loved Goku's "I'll straighten'em out for ya if you'd like Piccolo!"

I'm not exactly sure, because I haven't bought from them in a few years (they don't have the most competitive prices), but I believe some people have said that they've been slipping on that as of late.

Actually, season 3 won't air until the summer. That was essentially a Treehouse of Horror episode, a one-off noncanon April Fools episode meant to tide fans over until then, much like how Sherlock had the special in between Series 3 & 4 to tide fans over another year. Many things were just off on a few levels when it comes to that episode, even though it was still enjoyable.

Anyways, I'm glad I'm watching these episodes again, with an, ultimately, better & all around reliable dub. I remember watching the saga through the original dub on the Dragon Boxes &, even though I enjoyed it a fair amount, It was just held back by the poor scripting & direction of the time. I just feel better with this dub, it's how the series should've been treated 20 years ago.
