Now makes total sense Shida is not working in DB yet. The tournament won't start anytime soon and Shida will just most likely pop up in the climax.
ēlDLIVE already ended but Karasawa keeps missing. There's not any update of his work on animationcorner either since DBS episode 72.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
I'm glad to see Tate and Manabe get 8 weeks again, it's just a shame that Itai and Nii aren't getting as much time. Itai has proven to work pretty well under pressure, so 6 weeks should be fine, especially if the episode has heavy outsourcing. I have no idea what to expect from Nii on 89 since we don't have a good idea of how long he worked on 82, but him getting 7 weeks should give us a fairly good idea of his capabilities.
I'm not giving up on Karasawa until we see the staff for the first episode of the tournament.
I still think the tournament will be starting soonish. The descriptions for these episodes have pushed back my expectation a bit though, it'll probably start in episode 91 or 92, though 93 is a possibility.FortuneSSJ wrote:Episodes 87 and 88 have my full attention.Ajay wrote: 86 - Naoki Tate

Given Tate and Manabe are on these I am predicting late 90's (95+) the ToP will start.

Not necessarily, 92 could be the start and supervised by Karasawa (or someone else), 93 could be Tate with 7 weeks, or 94 could be him with 8.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Given Tate and Manabe are on these I am predicting late 90's (95+) the ToP will start.
Plus we still don't know if the Battle Royale will be the actual main meat of the arc or just the start of something. We also have to see how 86 turns out, maybe Tate won't provide any animation for it and will just correct a bunch of work from others, potentially even entirely outsourced work.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
I think that in #86 Ishikawa will be with Tate, in #87 Shimanuki will be with Manabe, and in #88 Kitano with Itai.

I'm gonna guess that 86 has Kinoshita, then Kitano, Ishikawa, and/or Takamura show up on the following episodes and then 90 is Shimanuki. Fingers crossed 89 is totally outsourced to Nii's studio.Sodhi wrote:I think that in #86 Ishikawa will be with Tate, in #87 Shimanuki will be with Manabe, and in #88 Kitano with Itai.
Part of me also thinks 87 might end up only having Manabe as a supervisor, but someone will DEFINITELY be with Itai on 88.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
Is it possible to get new animators only for the Battle Royal? Like Go! Princess Precure has a good scene.
https://twitter.com/randomsakuga/status ... 0376439808
It was animated by Shingo Fuji, perhaps we can get some Key Animations from these kinds of animators in the future? Because I don't feel like the regulars can do something as good as that PreCure does.
But, maybe there's some connection somewhere to hire/convince this kind of animator?

Yes, it is possible to get talented animators for main Battle heavy episodes. This made me realize something. They can actually easily utilize a lot of bank animation for the battle royal. They already know the location, background, and how will the characters look. Arena is just a CG top. They can have really cool scene already done.

We could also see some of the OP animation be recycled, I'd love to see Shida's cut in an episode.Sodhi wrote:Yes, it is possible to get talented animators for main Battle heavy episodes. EDIT: I'm gonna change my guess on secondary supervisors real quick.
86 - Ishikawa
87 - Kinoshita (Wanpack)
88 - Joey Calangian and Noel Ano-nuevo (TAP)
89 - entirely outsourced , so either Nii alone or another person outside of Super's core staff, maybe even Oka.
Second EDIT: I rearranged it.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
So Animation Corner lists Hiroyuki Itai from Studio Anisen. I cannot find info about that studio. As for his work in Toei, he has only worked on DB, starting from BOG Movie.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
I mean, is it possible to get animators like Shingo Fuji?
Like, we do have connection right? And Masaaki Iwane, he has worked on DB. Is it possible to get him? Like his timing is really good for Dragon Ball. Especially for the Tournament.
I'm just confused, this series is world-level. Yet there's no actual mindblowing animation. Look at Masaaki Iwane's work https://twitter.com/randomsakuga/status ... 2233155584
Maybe TOEI still have a connection with him...
I wish he'd come and animate like a minute worth of Sakuga. Maybe convince him by saying Manabe is the supervisor.

Really loved Iwane's work on Z, though I don't see him ever really making a comeback to the series due to his obligations towards Pokemon.Gashif Aldi wrote:I mean, is it possible to get animators like Shingo Fuji?

Shingo Fujii could work on the series, but I don't see him wanting to since he doesn't appear to have any sort of connection to Dragonball, his not even a fan to my knowledge.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
Don't get too hooked on what studios Animator's Corner has animators listed under. It's more of a general, "Here's who they're associated with at this point in time", rather than "They're from X outright". They're sometimes out of date, too.Sodhi wrote:So Animation Corner lists Hiroyuki Itai from Studio Anisen. I cannot find info about that studio. Well, I guess animators that have a connection to Dragonball have higher chances of animating the series.JazzMazz wrote:Really loved Iwane's work on Z, though I don't see him ever really making a comeback to the series due to his obligations towards Pokemon.Gashif Aldi wrote:I mean, is it possible to get animators like Shingo Fuji?

But, dang. All I see is the same animators everyday. I hope animators that doesn't have connection also animate the climax.
But, maybe they can convince him. Look at Hideki Yamazaki, he suddenly jump out of nowhere. So this give me the hope that we're seeing an unique animator to the Dragonball franchise.
Because I'm sick seeing the same people over and over and over. Please give us something like Norio Matsumoto, and Yosmichi Kameda (or Yutaka Nakamura).
Usually when I watch animes, there's always that one animator who do the whole climax (usually seasonal animes) that just change the whole perspective of the anime. Just like the BoG Movie.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue 2.0 - Episode 84
I think no-one is opposed to having more talented animators from different places working on the show. It's just that the possibility of them actually working on Super usually isn't very high. I would love for any of the animators you mentioned to do something for Super, but I just don't see that happening, espicially when some of them publically comment on their disdain towards the character designs of the show.Gashif Aldi wrote:Well, I guess animators that have a connection to Dragonball have higher chances of animating the series.JazzMazz wrote:Really loved Iwane's work on Z, though I don't see him ever really making a comeback to the series due to his obligations towards Pokemon.Gashif Aldi wrote:I mean, is it possible to get animators like Shingo Fuji?

Someone I hope works on Super, whom I'm pretty sure is a Toei in-house animator is Tomita Yoshikazu. Whose mostly famous for his One Piece work. I would also like if Kenji Kuroyanagi made a return to the show.
