Super isn't following a manga so there's no excuse for it to be this slow.
It doesn't really need to be excuse. Taking things slow can be a good thing, especially in an arc that's trying to include so many of the old fighters. I know the Krillin and #18 stuff ddin't go down well but you cannot say "could've been done better" until we finish it. Gohan got his potential,a couple of years later he looses a lot of that power, and now if gohan gets a transformation like SS rage or ssb,a couple of years he will lose it, enough of This,I'm sick of the constant backpedaling on this characters,he don't need to be strong to be revelant, this arc established that, and it wouldn't make sense, whis know someone name jiren is stronger than toppo, toppo the Same guy who fought on par with goku ssgss, and he was surpressed,so wouldn't be a smart idea if whis pushes goku and vegeta to their limit

Why not ? The anime is its own continuity.
