86 and 87 seem like they could be one episode.

Episode 88 should be good, Piccolo better get stronger and not just Gohan. Goku is there so 17 might be and so maybe 17 and Piccolo might interact.

Episode 89 finally has the last 2 members and hopefully they have something new as well.

I dont think the actual tournament will start until the first episode of June which is episode 93. That would already make this arc longer than the Champa arc.

Do power level numbers really mean anything anymore honestly? Not power levels themselves, but the numbers.

Well from a writing standpoint, so other characters besides Goku and Vegeta can actually be in the same damn realm of power since them still being as weak as they've been makes them pretty much useless since anyone they are equal to, Goku could probably one-shot so what's even the point? No, they all need some god ki or something that at least makes sense if they want to avoid having the same problem they had with Future Trunks being strong for no reason at all.

Still no tournament? now I really feel like we wont have a twist in the end where a real villain comes out, this'll be just a plain damn tournament, well at least its a battle royal.
17's got 2 eps for him, first they fight and then they team up, awesome!
Also damn it Gohan, why go to Piccolo when you had plenty of time to ask Whis to help you train? WHY? the only thing Piccolo can help you with is meditating.
So Tien opened himself a dojo? cool! we get some Roshi+Tien action! who the hell is Yurin? a new girl?

At least now we know gohan can get his full power back in a matter of hours if he wants to..

Honestly with this kind of ability, I wouldn't train a day either, just do some training for few hours and you are good to go

Hyperbolic Time Chamber is the only thing that will make Piccolo and Gohan stronger so quick. It probably has been rebuilt. Piccolo might actually already be stronger.

The great thing about them training together is piccolo has experience of tournaments, he will teach gohan what it really means to be in one..
Also, this will provide a good excuse for piccolo to power up, which he needs desperately right now, I mean if Krillin and 17 got one, it's only natural he gets it

I don't really mind if Goku gets the final fight or not, but I wouldn't count others out yet. He didn't get the final fight of the Champa Saga, unless you mean the big fight. In which case, I agree.

Reading the summary for episode 88 again it seems like Goku and Piccolo have already spoken before Gohan comes to Piccolo which could mean something.

Episodes 86-89 sound like satisfactory and enoyable filler. I'm looking forward to them.

This arc has really grown on me. It's awesome we are getting a real build-up for the tournament, something Super lacked. I've always loved the build-up DB and DBZ had before tournaments and big fights. The only time I felt some build-up in Super was before the first fight with Black in the future (with Goku and Vegeta) but this time they are really taking their time, and they are giving us really interesting episodes, with good character interactions and development.

The hype is real! Animation, art and story are consistently good. Now I just need to see some blood and good battle damage, please!!!

So everyone seems to be getting stronger except 18 and Vegeta. Interesting.

18 doesn't really need to get stronger, she will have great chemistry with Krillin and her brother and it will be enough for this tournament.

Vegeta should still be stronger than Goku in SSB unless they forgot he surpassed Goku back in FT arc, when he trained in the RoSaT. Though I don't really expect him to do good in this tournament, considering how he has literally no chemistry with anyone. He might lose early on trying to do all by himself just for someone to throw him out of the ring, in order to show us how teamwork is essential in the tournament. Vegeta also seems to lack experience in ground combat, he most likely learned how to fly since he was very young. Though he should have plenty of experience in handling more enemies at once due to his past as a planet conqueror for Freezer, so I hope it will be somewhat shown and acknowledged.

Vegeta has not even done anything this arc yet. They are now starting to focus on everyone now instead of only a small amount of characters like previous arcs.

Vegeta big problems are working as a team and handling some pressure.

Right, amazes me how reading comments that people want them to jump straight to the ToP we did that in U6 arc and that was a complete shit show. Seems they see using that as a learning curve.

So...the Gods hired someone?

Ah i'm curious to know if we have all these "fillers" because the real tournament doesn't last longer than 6 or 7 episodes

The wouldn't accept it if it wasn't Goku is pretty weird imo. I mean you'd think Piccolo would have more influence on him considering they actually have a history. Or even Gohan because he killed the dude who absorbed him and 18. I'll wait for the episode and see if Gokus identity influences him and it makes sense though.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

For one, Vegeta have definitely lost his edge on goku since goku trained with whis when Vegeta was waiting for the baby, even goku warns him saying don't be mad if I end up stronger than you again..
And, he dosen't need experience in ground combat, flying is okay in the ring, not outside of it

I also thought flying was allowed in the ring but after episode 85, in which they used the no flying rule, I believe flying isn't allowed on the ring. Though as it happened on Dragon Ball before everyone learned how to fly, they can still fight for a while mid-air (considering the speed at which they fight) and that's what happens in the opening.
