Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Well we should get a decadently long tournament unless most of the 80 odd fighter get thrown out of the ring in 1-3 episodes.
Also I just thought...What happens when someone dose fall of the arena? Its a void, a place of pure nothingness were their powers wont work. In some other franchises the Void is the antithesis of Creation and destroys everything that comes into contact with it. Will the fighters who fall off die? Given that 7 of these universe are going to be destroyed, for most of them death was inevitable but what about the winning universe fighters?

I can't believe I forgot about 18 as one of the people who could convince 17.
Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!Jinzoningen MULE wrote: Maybe I should start making it a point not to comment when I'm not sure of something. Too many people know what they're talking about around here.
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Trowing your opponents to their deaths when either of you can't help the situation is very dark stuff..
Specially if one of ours get thrown and see the shot of them trying to reach out to us while falling into their death is pretty scary stuff

I don't see what's the problem with what he said,he's basically saying that he wouldn't accept if it weren't for Goku which is obviously true since Goku will help which will make 17 warm up to him and accept his invitation,i doubt he accept if 18 asks he will probably just tell her he's busy or something like that.DBSQA wrote:Ok then. So I guess I shouldn't consider whoever is talking's words canon.Lapislettuce wrote:It's not Toriyama who is talking though !DBSQA wrote:
So is Toriyama saying that 18 would not have been able to persuade 17 to join the tournament? I'm pretty sure a family member would persuade someone more than a stranger.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Still thought...his never met Goku so I think 18 would be more persuasive considering that's his sister.18 knows 17 more so she'll probably find some words to persuade him.Lapislettuce wrote:I don't see what's the problem with what he said,he's basically saying that he wouldn't accept if it weren't for Goku which is obviously true since Goku will help which will make 17 warm up to him and accept his invitation,i doubt he accept if 18 asks he will probably just tell her he's busy or something like that.DBSQA wrote:Ok then. If my sister asked me to do something I'd be less likely to do it.DBSQA wrote:Still thought...his never met Goku so I think 18 would be more persuasive considering that's his sister.18 knows 17 more so she'll probably find some words to persuade him.Lapislettuce wrote:I don't see what's the problem with what he said,he's basically saying that he wouldn't accept if it weren't for Goku which is obviously true since Goku will help which will make 17 warm up to him and accept his invitation,i doubt he accept if 18 asks he will probably just tell her he's busy or something like that.DBSQA wrote: Ok then. My point being that you can't really apply your own real world situation to a work of fiction.
Probably Kanzenshuu's biggest Bulla fangirl. Current avatar: DBU Bulla as Sailor Princess Sadala, based on Sailor Moon: Cosmic Dance

For a tournament with 8 other players? And it seems that the twins have a pretty good relationship, even thought they haven't talk in about 10 years.Simere wrote:Yes. Strangers I often want to please. My sister...do it yourself, lazy.DBSQA wrote:Simere wrote:

But seriously, 18 needed persuasion herself, I doubt she would be the best person to ask 17, if she does they need another mountain of money for 17 as well

I hardly intended to have to debate my little jokey remark, but if you guys are going to challenge me like this...I can certainly apply my real world situation to a work of fiction. What do you think fiction is informed by? I can list dozens of fictional siblings if you'd prefer, starting with our own Goku and Raditz.Ki Breaker wrote:EdgySimere wrote:

If 17 is going to listen to 18, it'd be because of who she is and what he thinks of her, not "because she's his sister".

Well Looking at the spoilers, helping 17 get rid of poachers seemed to be all Goku needed to get 17 to join. But 17 turned Goku down once, So Maybe he would of said yes immediately if it was 18 or not as she needed persuasion herself.Ki Breaker wrote:EdgySimere wrote:

Goku being the only one #17 would say yes to makes sense because he (#17) was created to kill him. So Goku indirectly influenced his life. Plus its Goku the Micheal Jordan of kung fu and greatest hero in the known universe. It's basically his life coming full circle in a weird way

Do you guys really have to make an issue out of everything?
Goku goes to recruit 17, he says no, immediately shit goes down. Goku helps then 17 agrees, like what is exactly wrong with that scenario? 18 doesn't know the real reason behind the ToP why would she even go out her way to convince 17 to join when it's just a normal tournament to her, hell she was barley interested herself.

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

A little late to the party, but the spoilers have me really interested. Ironically, it's the Roshi/Tien episode that has piqued my interest the most. I mean, when was the last time those guys have been the central characters in any episode of anything Dragon Ball related? It feels like forever. They're taking a slow burn approach with this build-up to the Tournament Of Power, and I'm really appreciative that they're doing that. It's working wonders for this arc and the supporting cast.

I used to nitpick GT but then just found it pointless to barrage on it, being negative on something so much is not good so I stopped and in turn my hatred for GT I also dropped to the point I now don't mind it, I haven't seen GT in a while and am curious to one day watch it now without my previous negative mindset (and in JPN) and see how it sits with me.dbzfan7 wrote:Welcome to a GT discussion XDBaggie_Saiyan wrote:Do you guys really have to make an issue out of everything?

It's all fun to me positive or negative. I only draw a line when I have absolutely nothing to like. Of course there's stuff I like among the stuff I don't, so I stick around for the good and bad.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I used to nitpick GT but then just found it pointless to barrage on it, being negative on something so much is not good so I stopped and in turn my hatred for GT I also dropped to the point I now don't mind it, I haven't seen GT in a while and am curious to one day watch it now without my previous negative mindset (and in JPN) and see how it sits with me.dbzfan7 wrote:Welcome to a GT discussion XDBaggie_Saiyan wrote:Do you guys really have to make an issue out of everything?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Fair enough, I just hate negativity I think it just breeds a horrible atmosphere, back when Super was pissing me off (Freeza arc through U6 arc), I didn't re-watch episodes subbed and I stopped watching the show post U6 arc and because of that I wasn't on Kanzenshuu much period the U6 arc really sullied my mood on anything DB related, but that opening Trunks episode sucked me back in and that is primarily now why I tend to "defend" Super a lot at least that is what it probably looks like, I also trying to stay away from the Manga thread now, it is not doing it for me and I am sure people don't want to constantly moaning about this and that on there lol.dbzfan7 wrote:It's all fun to me positive or negative.
