Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Death Note, Attack on Titan and One Punch Man some of the more successful series in the west, no coincidence don't have that at all.

OP wasn't just talking about ecchi scenes, which DB actually did have some of, but all nudity. Can't say it matters to me either way; not going to say no to it, but it's not something I'm going to put in a request for. If it it happens, it happens.

Pretty sure nudity scenes ended at the saiyan saga. Beyond that we never got to see them. So i dont find it odd. What i find odd is people asking for nudity. I can understand people asking for visual battle damage, but seeing the characters naked, erm what for?

Clothes are a barrier. To see them removed from a character opens that character even further on both a physical and spiritual level for the viewer to consumer. The wholesale shaming of nudity is a weird concept that has been pounded into our society so much over the generations that any and all genuine nudity has been turned into this extremist taboo. Just imagine how different our society would be if violence was treated as scornfully as nudity!

By the way, there is nudity in the Majin Buu arc of the cartoon, specifically during the first Super Saiyan 3 transformation, Gokuu bathing with Goten and Trunks and the first Super Saiyan 4 transformation scenes. In those contexts they're either played for laughs or drama. Rarely is Dragon Ball's nudity sexual in nature.

Nudity? Uh, no. It fit in Dragon Ball because it was a kid's show where the main characters were kids (boys, no less), and always in a playful manner that didn't call that much attention to it.

But as others have said, one thing I've really missed is the battle damage. Goku couldn't keep his damn shirt on pre-Cell saga in both the anime and the movies, but after that he never took his shirt off again.

Goku with his shirt off and tattered clothes during the Freeza saga is one of the pinnacles of manliness for me. Hell, that whole time period of 80s to 90s was just hugely muscular dudes who could never keep their shirts on. Kenshiro is another example, who ripped off his shirt in almost every single episode. And when that happened, you knew some incredibly manly shit was about to go down. It was some really inspiring stuff as a young kid. We need more of that in Super.

Well, double standards have opened my eyes and I have even more appreciation for the creators who do what they like and draw what they like without letting society's oversensitive views dictate their work.

Nudity, if the creator is passionate about it and that reflects in his work, why not like it? Just like violence or any other subject matter. Execution is key though. Toriyama Akira did a stellar job in early Dragon Ball for example.

Maybe he does enjoy it, doesn't really matter. It's done to pander to prepubescent Japanese kids just like so many other series.

It was a series that could have been half decent but became a complete joke due to the constant need to shoehorn in fanservice at every opportunity.

Almost all of the female characters wear skimpy clothes and have big tits that hang out. They're always getting into situation where they happen to just lose their clothes for no other reason to give kids a boner.

Also, all those scenes u mentioned are filler. Toriyama dropped showing nude characters by the time the android saga started. In early dragonball it was shown quite a bit due to the manga itself not being that serious. Once Piccolo arrived tho, all that went out the window, and u saw naked scenes only when characters changed cloths.

Also, i doubt people r ashamed of showing their skin. Pure naked, aka no underware on is simply weird, since even bush people that arent in contact with the rest of the world dont run around completely naked, they cover their genitals.
