This is pretty comprehensive, though something seems passive aggressive about some of the cons you listed, as in it seems like you're belittling some complaints, but that might just be in my head.

I can find websites saying any piece of art is awful, that's not how you judge a general census, you need numbers dude.

Imdb give super 8.2, tv.Com give super an 8.7. funimation give super a 4.5.out of 5 Crunchyroll gives super a 4.5 put of 5 and these are done by several several people.

I was genuinely shocked by how many people actually like this show even dragon ball youtubers the amount of people who bash super aren't as high as you think and most of them get mass downvoted for it, similar to Z.

Even on here, I can name the people who don't like super on my fingers. In fact there was just a rating pool and guess what, most of them gave 8 to 7's. Those who gave low scores were the ones I already knew would do so.


I haven't tried it on reddit but I'm positive it be the same 8 to 7's.


I hope I am not seeming aggressive here but yeah people in general do like super. Nostalgia and power of dragon ball can only go so far . GT and Kai should tell you that.

I see an equal amount of hate as I do an equal amount of love for Super. I mean just look around. In the "What's your current rating of Super as of episode 84?" thread there are a lot of mixed opinions there, and pretending like you've already read all of them because you can count on your hand how many people dislike Super is like sticking your fingers in your ears.

Seeing how people react to something is not concrete in the slightest bit because the people who are loudest aren't the majority.Not even close.

Yeah numbers can be screwed, but it's the best evidence you can get for something like this instead of "I have seen people" or "I have talked to people" or "I have read sites" Also crunchy is one number out of the several numbers I listed and I can find more.

i don't get how people can dislike tate. he's given us some of the best fight animation in the series so far.

here's my list.
pros: beerus/whis, efforts at ushering the extended cast (bulma, krillin, etc) back into relevance, the first half of the zamasu/black arc
cons: animation (which is improving), the second half of the zamasu/black arc, goten/trunks not aging or getting any character development

agree with those are excited about the ToP arc. i think that if this show goes on for another two years we can definitely see it hit some franchise-wide highs

The rating systems are generally perceived to be not accurate, for the exact reason you mentioned earlier 'the vocal minority'. IMDB has a rating of 8.2 /10, with only 60 reviews, and pretty much every review starts with "I don't know why everyone is hating on Super, it's way better than GT and who cares about power levels!" You really think those people are objective critics? They even recognize the main things that Super is criticized for like consistency, story, excessive padding and pretend like none of it matters and Super is 10/10, you could call that a fanboy.

Those numbers are not much evidence toward Dragon Ball Super's popularity in this case, with relatively low number of ratings and the reviews leading either toward extreme hate or extreme fanboyism. A more reliable measure is looking at the comments of the episodes after they've aired. Half of the comments are complaining, and half of the comments are failed attempts to justify how this episode can make sense. But if you want to make up in your mind that Dragon Ball Super is just flawless and no one complaining has any merit then keep thinking that, but don't pretend it's on a factual basis.
