Does #18 ever age?
Does #18 ever age?
With her android parts, I think I remember hearing that she doesn't really age into GT when we see Kuririn all old and grey. So is it safe to assume that she will never die of old age? Or that she will, except that her body's look doesn't change. I know she's not around during the epilogue with Pan which was 100 years later.
If it's true that she'll never age and also she's got an unlimited powersource, I think she got a pretty sweet deal when Gero abducted her.

It's hard to say. In Trunks's apocalyptic future, about 17 years after they were activated, she and #17 looked exactly the same. I also seem to recall something about the mechanical upgrades effectively equalling immortality, but I'm not sure what that implies without looking up the original dialogue.
But in the main series timeline, at that same point, 17 years after they were activated (when Gokuu runs off with Uub), she seems a bit older, at least in the manga, but maybe it's just that haircut. I don't remember what she looks like at the end of the Z anime or in GT, though.
Of course, she physically seems to be a teenager, while Kuririn was probably 30-ish when they first met, so he'd look old well before she would either way.

18 isn't immortal, and anything that isn't immortal dies after age. So due to the natural laws of time, I wouldn't doubt it.Humpski wrote:She doesn't physically age no, but is there a set limit to her longevity I wonder?DemonKingPiccolo wrote:I think it's stated that she doesn't age.

Well in fiction there's lots of instances of beings who don't age but they can still be killed. So it's a limited kind of immortality. She might be like that.DemonKingPiccolo wrote:18 isn't immortal, and anything that isn't immortal dies after age. Yes, and she probably would die later of age because she was originally human. I definitely think that some of those traits still exist with her.Humpski wrote:Well in fiction there's lots of instances of beings who don't age but they can still be killed. No, she's a cyborg. Is that so hard to get right, I mean she had a baby for crying out loud. Cyborgs are not the same as literal Androids, which are completely mechanical (e.g., #16 and #19).suomipoika wrote:she doesn't got older cause she is android god dammit!
I tend to think #18 may be aging, but at a much slower pace than normal humans. Or perhaps like Data in Star Trek, she has a program which allows her to age physically after the bombs are removed. Either way, she still looks hot in GT.

First of all, for something like this, ignore GT. Based on the fact she looks exactly the same in Trunks time as she does when awoken in the past it's pretty safe to assume her cybernetic parts give her a sort of technology based eternal youth. She can die, obviously, just not of old age.
She's not an Android, she's a Cyborg. She's a person with mechanical parts added.she doesn't got older cause she is android god dammit!

I think it was stated somewhere that he programmed Android 19 to do itraz1337 wrote:That's weird thinking about someone making themself mechanical while only keeping their brain. His machines did it to him?
