Food for Thought: Fused Zamasu's Natural Healing Capacity

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Food for Thought: Fused Zamasu's Natural Healing Capacity

Post by Jinzoningen MULE » Thu Apr 13, 2017 11:14 am

I'm not usually one for in-universe topics, but I'm in a particularly good mood today, so I dreamt up some fun food for thought.

Say Goomasu "survived" the final battle against the protagonists, then went to bed for a couple of years, binged a bunch of soap opera's, and ate plenty of chicken soup. Do you think that Zamasu's body would eventually return to its regular state through natural healing processes? He's obviously still immortal enough to survive serious damage, and as long as he's alive, there's no reason his body's regular functions shouldn't kick in as usual, so I think he'd probably be able to return to normal.

Thoughts?

I think he would, but the amount of time would depend on how long it would take him to regain sentience coupled with his regeneration powers probably being slowed down by his Gokû Black half not having that ability.

Or conversely, there's the theory that Future Trunks killed only the killable half of merged Zamasu so that's why the Zamasu clouds looked like his original self and not his merged ssj hair self so when Goomasu regenerates it'll just be Future Zamasu and not his merged self.

My preferred headcanon though is that Future Zamasu regenerates and splits off from Gokû Black, who he heals and then the two of them go into hiding on some obscure planet full of plant life.
On hiatus.

Thats a tough one.

Well as me and some others have pointed out in other threads, there is a lot wrong and potentially wrong with this fusion. From the fusion of a mortal and immortal soul to the fact Black was still transformed and now Fused Zamasu can never power down. There's also the fact that his power constantly increases with damge which adds to instability. There is so much going on this fusion was almost destined to fail.

I'd say no, his mutation is the result of way to many issues and none of them are going to go away even after the battle, hell there more likely to just keep getting worse. Its possible that had he not jumped right into battle, his body might have been able to adapt because of his immortality but he did and started putting strain of his very shaky foundations and taking damage his unstable immortality was likewise pushed to far and it was all down hill from there.

That purple slim like quality is likely due to his cells dying under the strain of his ever increasing power and instability but then forced to regenerate by his immortality. Its like that half of his body has turned into a big, purple, slime cancer.

You say that, but in the show, it was said that Fused Zamasu became deformed because the two souls that created him were unstable, and his purple gooiness seemed to simply be failed regeneration from battle damage. It was also never implied that Goku Black's Rose form or his indefinitely increasing power contributed to the downfall of the fusion. However, the everlasting Super Saiyan state could result in fatigue, which may inhibit recovery. It's an interesting proposition, anyhow

We don't have many facts to go on, but I'd like to keep in line with the ones that we do have or this discussion, if that's okay with everyone.

Well since we dont have much to go on we need some level of hypothesis.

My main point is, when you look at everything about the fusion, its the worse kind you could do. Fusion is all about balance, even with the earrings the best option is for it to be done in base, Old Kai warned Goku that fuseing as a SS3 could shorten his life.

I've applied everything I know about fusion, what we were told back during the Buu Saga, unique circumstances of Zamasu's fusion, what I know of biology and looked at what Black's hax zenkai would likely throw into the mix. All of that points to this fusion having many, many problems and that his condition was more then likely cronic.

I think if he took time to meditate for a while and focus on healing properly, then yeah the purple goo parts of his body would probably heal eventually. I'd guess it would take a few weeks maybe.
