The worst Dragon Ball covers

Post by LeMoonwalker » Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:39 pm

I don't think this has been posted before, but if that's the case, then you can delete this topic.

I suggest you post the DB/DBZ/DBGT covers you found to be the ugliest.

I'll start with the french ones :

Well yeah, AB Video France isn't really good at creating covers.
Fortunately, some of them are better-looking (thank god !).

And an italian one (Well at least they have the Japanese version subtitled, unlike the French DVDs).

I say this one wins for most inappropriate cover. As the title might suggest, this is DragonBall, not DBZ. Specifically, the Pilaf arc (the description is a bit unclear, but I think it's episode 7-10).

...yeah.

Then there's this:

TV series, mid-21st Budoukai.

DB movie 2.

This one amuses me, though. You think an American company would've ever used a screencap like this for a cover?

What's up with all the pixelated madness in the Italian cover? Looks like the clouds from the opening from We Gotta Power...

That's what I wonder : why did they "pixelated" it ? Did they think it was a nice effect ?
And the screencap used isn't really beautiful, as well as the episode titles written on the cover.

And for the inappropriate cover, well that sure is weird to see Kid Trunks and Goten, Super Saiyan Goku and Gohan in the Pilaf Saga :?

I think the DB Movie 2 covers are fine, but the screencap is really weird (and awful) :o

The movie cover itself is decent enough, the problem is that they used the EXACT same image, just flipped, for a random TV series tape cover

Right, but the covers are from different companies.

(recoil)
urrgh. The first set is really ugly. And you can see the artist's lean in the reversed images of the second set of covers. ("Lean" as in their drawing favors one side of the paper.) Pretty much every artist has one, I know I do. Take one of your drawings sometimes and hold it up to the light, looking at the back-side, so you can see it in reverse image. It's very noticable in reverse image, not so much with the regular image.

regardless, thanks for posting.

I think these two are really good, just some of the drawing need to be cleaned up.

Meh, the GT-covers are a lot better than the "Random screencap with a title on it"-covers for the DBZ-singles. (And the norwegian movie-releases.)
