Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

If anything Super has had the opposite effect, ratings are good, sales are up, Dragon Ball has become a strong name again.
Thats the point. For me its downhill (here in Singapore, guys are trolling it mercilessly with even 5 year old kids switchin off/changing the channel whenever Super pops) while according to you (good ratings, sales etc)
Dats BIZZARE. Kinda like John Cena of anime world. Has earned Haters as much Fans. Polarizing with its negatives far outweighing its pros
The most bizarre thing to happen in the franchise is probably the popularity drop among general anime-manga fandom : DB before: it is one of the best franchise and pillar of anime exportation from Japan DB nowadays: It is an overrated piece of s***, I bet my [insert anime or manga name] would've done better if it aired at that time.
This is really sad for me, how long before die and become lost memory ?

What arc is it on there? I can see probably see why though the animation is laughably bad in the first three arcs, if it's really like that over there.
What about the whole 12 universe thing? Throughout the entire span of DBZ we're led to believe our universe was the only one that existed, and Majin Buu was a threat to all life.
Now we find out there are 12 universes and that Buu could have been easily stopped by Beerus or any of the other God's.
The Big Green dub of the movies airing on Toonami UK fully uncut in the middle of the day, nude scene from movie 3 and all. That and the crazy subtitles from the PAL version of Budokai 1 with Vegeta screaming "YOU AUNT SALLIES!!!" after Cell kills Trunks in story mode.
I'd honestly say the whole concept of Dragon Ball Super. I just came so out of left field. Especially considering the franchise seemed to be taking the one-movie-every-two-years route in terms of extending the franchise.
Female Broly is a very close second. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that's a thing now.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Speaking about Broly, DBHeroes giving him SS3 and SS4 made me cringe to dead .
Nothing will top Golden Oozaru Broly.
I mean... what... the... fuck... was... that!?!

If you said even only 5 years ago we would have new Super Saiyan forms with red hair, blue hair, pink hair, etc...people would have laughed and told you to stop looking at crappy fanart.
I remember the days when Dragon Ball was pretty much dead. The buzz had almost completely died out by late 2005/early 2006 and there was that time period till Kai, when nothing was out except for video games. Everything was done! Many fans just were worried, that if video game sales dropped, the franchise would pretty much be dead.
Who knew there would be such a revival?! It's a great time right now to be an old-school Dragon Ball fan, when you can still sit with friends and talk about the latest episode. This kinda reminds me of my school days back in the 90s.
The most bizarre thing is games bringing story and content far more interesting than the series itself. I mean, shouldn't be the other way around? I'm glad it isn't, the more content and different stories, the better. But it's bizarre to think that games content nowadays are better.

That's because of how the franchise is being handled today. Before it had some artistic integrity while now it's just about the merchandise and to make things worse they're very obvious about it.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I wouldn't necessarily say that is the case, it is just the case of "haters" being louder and sometimes obnoxious. For example in the U.S 1m+ people tune in every week for DBS but only fraction of those comment on the series, putting that into perspective Kanzenshuu itself has 9889 members- that is under 1% of the people who watch DBS on Toonami and the thing is not all of those 9889 members here even watch DBS in America since like yourself and myself we're from different countries etc.
The Speedy dub and its sheer awfulness. Also, the fact that the series lasted way longer than Toriyama intended it to.
"All of you. All of you must have KILL all the SEASONS!" -Dough (Tenshinhan), Speedy Dub of Movie 9.
"My opinion of Norihito's Sumitomo's new score is... well, very mixed. The stuff that's good is pretty darn good, but the stuff that's bad makes elevator music sound like Jerry freaking Goldsmith." -Kenisu
