Anyone know why they aren't putting Dragon Ball, minus the last 2 movies, on iTunes? I mean, the last deal they signed with Toei guaranteed them multi-year rights to distribute the franchise on physical & digital media, yet the only actual platforms they have the shows on, besides their streaming service, is Amazon & Xbox Video. Why is this? They just put Yu Yu Hakusho on iTunes, so why not Dragon Ball?

Yeah, after almost 3 long years of you starting this popular thread - We're finally here. The end of an era. The end of waiting. Soon when June comes, all of Kai will finally be released. So glad Funimation's doing the smart thing and getting rid of Kai so that Super can shine after.

Here's something some of you probably didn't notice about the opening sequence because 1. they cut it out of the broadcast edit of it & 2. the only uploads on YouTube are from later in the series, but similar to Ben 10 Alien Force hiding Alien "X" in its opening sequence until his debut, when Trunks & Goten fuse, Gotenks is shown only in silhouette. THERE'S a bit of subtlety in the minefield that is the new animation spoilers of Kai: TFC.

Also, I'm pretty sure they cut a few minor short scenes out of the episodes for runtime. Either that, or I haven't been paying enough attention when it's on.

Also, I don't know if it's because my PS4 is set to use the expanded color palette, but I'm not seeing the green tint. Pretty sure it's that though because Bulma's hair looks actually light blue & NOT turquoise.

Perhaps your TV's not calibrated quite right.

I have the sets and can confirm the green tint is very much still intact.

I set it to do that in its settings menu. It's actually the dynamic range setting, I believe. As for if it looks better, I like it. I have it set like that all the time because it looks better to my eyes, more vibrant, ya know?

Maybe you're right. I just checked my TV & I forgot that I set it to "custom" on the picture settings. But even then what's really different is the backlight being turned all the way up & the color not being too much up from it's normal setting. I'm not saying it's not there. I'm just not noticing it is all, personally.

Green tint is definitely there, but honestly, I don't think it's that bad. I've seen some screenshots that seemed much greener. This is very tolerable, and otherwise the footage is nice. It's not as detailed as Q-Tec's footage, but it does still have better darks than the Dragon Boxes and FUNi's film:

One thing that does seem to be amiss however, is FUNimation's dub audio mix. The sound effects sound really tinny and muffled compared to the Japanese track... I don't understand how this happened, because all of their previous Kai audio mixes sounded very full and clean. The Japanese audio track sounds fine, so it's definitely FUNimation's sound effect mixing. At least the sound effects are at a good audio level, since just about every previous 5.1 mix they've done has had overly loud sound effects.

The replacement guy only voiced Babidi in a few games. The other guy has voiced him in everything else it seems.

Just saw the latest episode. Great stuff overall. Musically, I wish they'd retire that disco track; no mater how much they try to make it happen....it's not going to happen. But other than that, the music was great. Sumitomo really nails the dramatic moments.

New Blu-ray player arrived today, day off from Uni/work so binged the part! Really really enjoyed the dub! Herbert as Gohan is just wonderful, Schemmel while not being able to show of his best work in this part, still a really really great Goku, he played every emotions great, it took long enough but we finally have a dubbed Goku that is match for the great Nozawa. This part was all about Sabat though, his Majin Vegeta was phenomenal.... Goosebumps!! Like I said the Vegeta stuff was the most I was looking forward too and next month we will have the big moment, awwwh I am so giddy! The video commentary also was hella fun and an actual commentary on the episode! (Half the time on these FUNi commentaries the VA etc talk about whatever and not the episode).

Next month we do it all again! (Though it comes out right around exam season so may have to wait until the 7th June until exams are finished).

I forgot how much I hated the Dabura meditation filler. It's a drag and inconsistent with how the events are supposed to go. Gohan vs Dabura is supposed to be well underway during the World Tournament Battle Royal, they could have just did a "meanwhile" thing for the separate fights instead of them standing around like goofs while Dabura meditates

Right? I was like wait isn't this track from DBS so many times haha feels so weird hearing it here even though here is where they originated from But I think the DBS placement of the tracks are much better. Buu Kai seems to be the same tracks on loop each episode, I swear that track that played during Shida's Vegetto Blue cut in DBS has played in every ep so far in Buu Kai.

Hearing that made me remember just how much I miss the Yamamoto score. While it would be complicated due to no new music pieces able to be used for Buu Arc, I hope there is a Yamamoto Revival for Final Chapters in the works now that we have 5.1 audio,
I can ignore the green tint (Barely), but the OST is my biggest problem with Final Chapters. I am shocked but I'm pretty sure this feeling I have for Kai and Yamamoto has reached nostalgia now. I mean that music, Doc Morgan's narration and Kai's voice direction and script, that is the Dragon Ball Z I have nostalgia for now, and it feels so weird to admit that as someone who's been a fan of Dragon Ball since 2003.

You know I'm going to be that guy and say that the original dub did those scenes. Vegeta speech in og was more real to me in that.
