The theory is OP has more casual fans in it's viewer base in JPN that are prone to dipping in and out, where as DBS has more or less a steady set amount of fans in it's viewer base who tune in every week hence why DBS isn't as sporadic and remains in the same rank more or less every week.

one piece has entered canon territory, DBS is in filler in canon mode.
Except OP entered "Canon territory" a few weeks ago and it still dropped to 5 something % last week.

^ and that's pretty much the gist of it.
It's likely the same core group tunes in each week. Relative to the other shows. The important thing is the trend. I.e. People mentioned Hero Academia and Boruto, I don't know their rankings but if we see them jumping in to the bottom and then advancing, it means they are on the up swing. This also means they are bringing in new viewers and hence new advertising dollars.

Shows who appeal to casual viewers should be rotating in and out of positions as either word of mouth, promotions, or viewer interests rise and fall. Super has a loyal but set fan base.

Super will likely stay in the 5.0-6.0 range forever. It's still the 5th-6th highest rated anime in Japan week after week, so what does it matter?

It really doesn't what pisses me off is the comments people made about 17 last week just because it dropped from a few percents despite the rankings staying the same for quite sometimes now.

It probably had more to do with 17 being SSJB level and turned off viewers, then fans just got over it and watched the next episode

The content of the individual episodes really has little to do with it's Day to day ratings

I would say 5.0-7.0 range is more accurate.

It's okay, people try to do it with Gohan episodes too. Some people see what they want to see.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Heh, every single time a new ep airs that has lower ratings than expected people say the, "Oh Japanese fans don't care about Gohan," or "Oh Japanese fans don't care about 17" or "Oh Japanese fans have no interest in Krillin" or "Oh Japanese fans don't like fillers," etc. etc.

As we all know all this is false, the regular Japanese fans tune in regularly, the ratings fluctuate by whatever little kids are watching the show or people who just tune on and off. It has nothing to do with the actual content of the episodes.

Naruto hasn't entered top 10 more than a dozen times in the last 5 years, Boruto isn't in top 30 most probably. Fans in Japan were pretty pissed with Naruto ending iirc
Toyotarō: … I get the feeling I’ve just heard something amazing (laughs). Lord Beerus and Whis turn up in Dragon Ball Super, and have become an unsurpassable wall for Goku and the gang. What do the two of them mean to you?

Toriyama: Well… First off, right now I don’t have any plans for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Beerus and Whis.

On hiatus.

Ratings for April 24 - April 30 (episode #88 of Super):
  1. Sazae-san (10.0%)
  2. Crayon Shin-chan (7.8%)
  3. Doraemon (7.7%)
  4. Chibi Maruko-chan (6.7%)
  5. One Piece (6.6%)
  6. Detective Conan (6.1%)
  7. Dragon Ball Super (4.4%)
  8. Pokémon - Sun and Moon (3.8%)
  9. Curious George (3.5%)
  10. Shaun the Sheep (3.1%)
It seems like half of the shows suffered a decrease. Super, in particular got its lowest rating so far, beating the previous 4.7% from episode #12 and #23. This is also the first time Super is in the 4% barrier since episode #26.

Either the japanese fans are already starting to get tired of the recruitment episodes or they didnt like that Piccolo got that strong after being showcased as a joke before episode 88?, I dont think it was because of the lack of Goku

This rating is what Episode 89 deserves it, not episode 88.

And another week without BNHA in the top 10..

Or a lower out of top 10 anime got a high % since I see that all top anime excluding the first place got an almost 1%+ decrease compare to last week
