Fighting games will never be that great on the GBA. You cant really come up with a Street Fighter Alpha 3 with two buttons and the shoulders.

Okay, I know full well Street Fighter Alpha 3 along with Soul Calibur II and Virtua Fighter 4 are never going to get spot on ports onto this system. I'm quite aware. My initial review simply states whether or not this game is fun to play. There's no reason why an extremely fun fighting game can't make it onto the GBA, especially when it's been designed specifically for the system. It's not that radical of an idea. Bukuu Tougeki is a decent game once you get the mechanics down but the only reason anyone's ever going to buy it is because it has licensed characters in it. However, with the right people in charge and a bit of time, it's not too far off to say that this game could have been great with some tweaks to the gameplay here and there. The "what did you expect" comment is a bit silly.

So, who else here has got a chance to play Super Sonic Warriors? I got to play it yesterday, and even though I couldn't understand a word of the story mode it still blows Taiketsu right out of the water. Finally, a trully great GBA DBZ fighter.

I hope everyone else advocates that.

I understand why many people believe that older games have to be emulated, but these same people turn around and get commercial GBA games.

The game looks very promising, maybe even with a cinematic feel.
I do a 'try before I buy' thing. That way I don't waste cash on crap like Taiketsu. If the game is worthy of my cash I'll stuff the rom back in the recessess of my Back-ups folder and buy the thing. If it's utter crud I delete it and try to forget it exists.

And yeah, this game is awesome, but it has the reverse flaw of the Budokai games. You're stuck in the air. It was fun for the first 10 or so fights but then it just gets rather annoying. :? I understand that was the point of the game, the air battles, but they still could have made it possible to stay on the ground.

Watch it with the grammar, tinlunlau. But yeah, you don't necessarily have to understand a game to enjoy it (unless it's an RPG, and even then you can play it if you know the story already like with DBZ).

I didn't want to ruin it. Adding any more would have ruined the beautiful simplicity of the joke. Zack, this time, is the man.

Here's the box art for Super Sonic Warriors

Image

They should've created new artwork for Goku instead of the same picture they use all the time. They had new ones of Cell, Vegeta, and Buu. Why not for Goku? Darn.

To be fair, they don't always use that one. Sometimes they use this one:

And if you're really lucky, you'll get the one of Goku holding his Nyoibo. Everyone know what one I mean? Of course you do.
