Toei/Bandai are hyping him as much as Hit was hyped in the U6 Arc.

Gohan and 17 are definitely the two most hyped fighters for this tournament, followed by Buu I suppose.

There's not as much fanfare for Krillin, 18, Tien, Roshi or even Vegeta. Really makes me hope they're not all screwed over.

Who Toei is hyping up definitely matters. If characters are getting built up, then they'll most likely do well. The build up isn't for nothing. Although, sometimes it is but that's rare. Bandai is definitely hit or miss.

I think he didn't include Goku because he's obviously going to do amazing. I'd say Gokus the most hyped up. I mean he's gotten half the opening to himself haha.

Besides goku obviously gohan and 17 are getting massive hype sign far along with krillin.
Vegeta isn't getting much screen time he'll still play a big role on the team.

It's honestly amazing how hyped Kuririn is. More hype than anyone of U7 that isn't Goku, Gohan, and 17.

I actually like the minimal screentime Vegeta is getting in this arc. The show is giving more spotlight to other side characters, and it's been great. They're really trying to tell the fans that it won't be just the Goku and Vegeta show this time. Focusing too much on Vegeta and Goku was starting to get boring honestly, so this is a nice change.

So looks like everyone who's been craving Gohan relevance can be happy that he's having a big "change" (I specifically did NOT choose to translate this as "transformation", because though that could indeed fit, I don't want people to think that there's some new form on display They're probably talking about him being Ultimate, I would suspect).

An arc that may be the final one of Super before entering EoZ where all hype was supposed to be about Goku.... and he gets this kind of treatment... I dont know if I should be laughing or be sad for him. First the guy is getting blamed for everything thats happening, then he gets his supposed SSJB power of the Gods (I remember the days when this form was supposed to be intimidating) get reduced to a spectacle for Krillin to the point that baldy pushed him to SSJ and pushed the damn wave who was talking his ass out that "Come at us Goku, you can ask Gohan for help if you want" and then 17 who was gone for more than a decade instantly pops out and pushes Goku to SSJB and even got ringed out by Fit Boo, and now Gohan who only trained for about a day has a possibility of surpassing Goku? oh my God, and here I thought effort was supposed to be on par or if not a better trait than anything, Goku's efforts and everything we saw him endure seems to look like shit now compared to the others... seems for Toei hype means making the one you're hyping look like an utter tool

Not surprising, goku training all the time and yet others coming close to his power relatively quick isn't a new thing..
Or he is making Everyone think they are close and whips out new transformation surpassing berrus, classic SS3 minded goku..
Or or That's the reason Piccolo said he hasn't seen goku so happy in a long in eoz, goku finally found someone weaker than him

Forget the single battle the double battle will be way more exciting.

Gohan and Piccolo vs Goku and Tien is a battle no one would think we would get. These are the kind of Dragon ball fights we need to have.

They should just free themselves from the ending. It's a blip in the manga, a forced ending from another time in Mr.Toriyama's disposition towards Dragon Ball.
Personally I would save Goku development into a hands on master/teacher and Oob, who could potentially become an interesting character.

I'm not in any rush for any time-skips, bar new designs for some characters. There's literally potential for infinite adventures around the corner, there's no need to waste these ten years because of this. Eventually we will get there but there's so much to tell.

If Toriyama wanted to changed the ending, he had his chance he redrew it a couple years ago. EOZ isn't going to change because fans didn't like it.
