Think you guys might be taking this news the wrong way

What would be the point of revealing 10 members for the team and then months later replacing one. Why didn't Toriyama just make it 11 per team?

Remember how they revealed U7 team for the Champa Arc before Goku start recruiting the team? Monaca had hype but he turned out to be a joke, and Buu got shafted aside.

The whole trolling Buu seems like a recurring gag by Toriyama, so if anything, blame Toriyama for pulling his kind of move and not Toei. Toriyama cares more for gags than the story.

The amount of promtion and build up for this arc is way bigger than for the Champa arc though.

Buu and 17 are the only 2 characters where I can think of a reason for them not turning up to travel to the tournament.

Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, Tien and Roshi will all be together. Vegeta is with Beerus and Whis. Krillin and 18 will obviously turn up.

I'd be stunned if 17 doesn't show up; they gave him a two-parter and a magazine spread. I'm confident he's on this team.

There's no way to check into seeing if any of the voice actors and actresses are booked for any other important roles on other shows this summer, is there?

So I guess the running gag of Yamcha being made fun of for not being chosen to join the team.....may actually lead to him actually joining the team.

If Yamcha didn't appear again after the ep Bra was born I wouldn't think of it, but they just showed him again in the previous ep. He's also bound to appear at least one more time before the main group teleports to the tournament, so I'm very curious.

Do you guys think Yamcha will join as a spectator even if he doesn't fight, similar to Mr. Satan?

I always found Roshi's participation to be suspicious. Is there a rule that characters have to fly in order to participate? Roshi is the only one of the main cast who can't fly. Maybe he will be disqualified for that reason?

With Trunks/Goten being excluded for this tournament they really have no other fighters to choose from. I don't think Jaco will be made a participant either, otherwise he likely would have been chosen by Toriyama from the start.

Maybe there's the off chance Supreme Kai finds some random powerful being somewhere in U7 we never seen before, but that would be a bit jarring.

Comparing both arcs the hype here is far bigger than it was in u6.

I don't think it's gonna happen, but if they change Boo for Yamcha because he fell asleep, I'm gonna like it. I like Boo, but he already fought and I feel bad for Yamcha.

What I think is that one character is gonna be late, but he is gonna make it in the last moment, that will be episode 92. Boo or Vegeta.

Is there a website that follows voice actors and actresses upcoming roles in anime? I know articles pop up eventually on ANN and Crunchyroll, but we're only 5 weeks into the spring season and those news articles aren't until we're a little over the halfway mark of the cour.

I agree with this; I do think there were changes behind the scenes. Something about this arc feels off to me compared to the last one.

Well think, when did Toriyama give the Toei writers the notes for this arc? Probably around the time the mid/later portions of the Zamasu arc were being animated, right? So between that we had 10 weeks of fillers to give the writers time to plan the arc. Then after the exhibition matches they made another 7+ episodes of the characters training just to give them more time to plan the actual tournament.

So in other words this arc was probably in the can and being written for around 6 months ahead of time, with probably some re-writes and changes along the way.

If they were making abrupt changes the animation probably would have collapsed by now instead of this being the most consistent arc yet.
The only real thing people can point to is the hooded figure changing shape from the PV to the actual show, but the shape in the PV didn't match Jiren either so it was likely intentional misdirection. If they had changed it that late in production they would have had to throw everything they had of 82 out the window and had they done that that late in production the episode would have come out looking really poor. The episode relies heavily on Toppo himself, his personality and his fighting style, so they would have had to do heavy rewrites to the script and redo the storyboard, not just start over on animation.

Besides Tanaka Mayumi (Krillin and Luffy's VA) I doubt any of them has a big role this coming summer, a lot of the seiyuu's being casted are the new ones and the popular ones.

EDIT: I wonder if theres a chance that Miyuki Sawashiro plays Cauli, she instantly popped out in OP playing Pudding, and Miyuki fits the tomboy wild type girl characters.

Not really, toppo being the hooded guy change, female broly might be cauliflowa who had different art in base sometime before which didn't make the op are some of them which makes me say this..
