Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
Anyway, I think it's fair to think that Caulifla's stronger than Cabbe. I mean, she wasn't scared when he turned Ssj, a form that any of the Saiyans from U6 knew it even existed.

When did I ever say in my post that it would be normal for that to happen?[/quote]Zamasu55 wrote:"The fandom", as if it would have been normal for Goku to go Blue against Muten Roshi.Freeza9000 wrote:At least Roshi didn't much that much of a fight against Base Goku or Goku going Blue against him. Goku's fights with Krillin and 17 made no sense, expecially when it was stated that 17 was holding back. So I think that the fandom (such as myself) had enough reasons to lose their mind...

Yeah there was nothing said about the talisman making Roshi stronger, Goku actually comments "So this is how strong you are when you're not holding back" and "You musta been training behind our backs" Tien got fucked by Roshi who's supposed to be weaker than him and was going at it with Goku... what the hell happened to Roshi.... did getting a touch and seeing Yurin's bushy panties give him a power boost?
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
Never mind him fighting Goku. How on Earth did he beat Tien? He shouldn't be a fraction as strong as Tien and yet he beat him easily.

Interesting. I wonder when he started training again.SansrivaaL wrote:Yeah there was nothing said about the talisman making Roshi stronger, Goku actually comments "So this is how strong you are when you're not holding back" and "You musta been training behind our backs" Tien got fucked by Roshi who's supposed to be weaker than him and was going at it with Goku... what the hell happened to Roshi.... did getting a touch and seeing Yurin's bushy panties give him a power boost?
Maybe after the Boo arc?

I think it was made pretty obvious that Goku was holding back as a SSJB against Krillin. He only transformed to tempt Krillin and to see what strategy he'll come up next.Zamasu55 wrote:Goku's fights with Krillin and 17 made no sense, expecially when it was stated that 17 was holding back. As for his fight with 17, I somewhat understand the complaints about it. Though I will not understand why not many people bitch about normal humans implemented with cybernetics are somehow stronger than a planet busting conqueror.

Hence why I said if nothing else counted. You still have people who don't take anything outside of the show seriously.Zamasu55 wrote:Toriyama stated that many times, we didn't need this episode.

I wonder how well Roshi would have been able to defend against Goku's Kamehameha if Yurin wasn't distracted. It's surprising enough that he was giving Tien a run for his money and even exchanging blows with Goku to the point of at least impressing him with his power.
If the talisman had nothing to do with it then that is certainly one hell of a strength increase.

Based on the Ep 90, it looks like this supposed strong base form received a huge Nerf. It's either all these characters caught up to Goku, or Goku's Base/ Normal SS forms are weak... stronger than he was in Z, but weaker than Base Goku(RoF)??
If those Frieza leaks are true, I hope Goku fights him to see whether or not Goku's base is nerfed... or all these characters received massive gains.
I don't agree with the 2 base theory, but maybe a possible retcon happened. So confused atm.
I also did not like how Tien was treated in this episode. It's like he was trash.

Perhaps Roshi's buff form was stronger than we ever gave credit for. Whilst King Piccolo was said to have the power of a small Nuke, Roshi blew up the whole moon. I have no idea how many Nukes it would take to destroy the moon but at that point he was probably closer to Piccolo Jr's level at the start of Zwho also destroyed the moon.
He did train since then aswell even in the original series.
It still seems really farfetched he'd beat Tien though but that buff form probably multiplies his power many times over.

If Roshi just used a gravity machine or the ROSAT or trained with Piccolo or something his powerup would make sense. I'm sure Base Goku was holding back, but this is really a potential indictment of the humans training regiments if Roshi surpassed Tien. They could have stayed relevant much longer if they didn't just train at their own pace in the woods or at the local gym instead of gravity machines, the ROSAT, Goku's offer, King Kai, asking Shenron for advise, ect...

Welp, just watched episode 90. Only thing I can say is Bad Writing confirmed. To those of you b****ing about out of nowhere power boosts, I now feel your pain. Seriously Roshi >>> Tien? What are they smoking?

Where are you been the past 24 hours? The "2 base theory" was confirmed already.Triggered Vegeta wrote:Based on the Ep 90, it looks like this supposed strong base form received a huge Nerf. I watched the full preview for next episode and Gohan says "I've finally attained the Ultimate form". That proves he hasn't use it at all since the BoG arc, finally putting a end to base Gohan > Piccolo in RoF. That is also consistent with Goku only being god level in SbG and SSB forms.
Goku also said in the episode that Roshi must've trained a lot in secret.
Re: Official Unofficial "Dragon Ball Super" Power Level Discussion Thread
Are people flipping with today episode now? Man I can't believe Roshi surpassed Tenshinhan lol

So where did this SBG go?? Looks to me like it's not a thing anymore. It's either a nerf or Gohan caught up. If it's still a thing, why did he turn SS to fight Toppo and not remain in base form?? According to the 2 base theory...
Goku(God base)>>>SS -> SS3(Current)... but it'd make zero sense since Goku has been shown to go SS on top of base, which would imply SS>>>Base like it should, and not the other way around.

I'm pretty pissed about it. This is probably the #1 instance of a character getting absolutely s*** on to make another character look good. It's so unnecessary, but I guess they needed something to justify Roshi's place on the team. Ugh, like always there's a million better ways to do that than a handwave.jeffbr92 wrote:Are people flipping with today episode now? Man I can't believe Roshi surpassed Tenshinhan lol
Anyways, it's hard to know where to put Roshi in the total scheme of things. He's prob still weaker than Krillin, but now I'm like 90% sure Krillin is stronger than Tien.

You know, to a point I have to agree. I've thought about this at length and ultimately I don't think it really matters in the end.Triggered Vegeta wrote:So where did this SBG go?? Looks to me like it's not a thing anymore.
Even if Goku has a second base on par with Super Saiyan God, he hasn't used it since... what, RoF? Maybe his sparring match with Beerus? Surely the two base interpretation explains certain things but for the most part he seems to default to a base level of strength that appears to be pretty far above his Buu arc base but considerably below his SSG strength in BoG.
So whether there are indeed two bases or something has been retconned, for all intents and purposes you could very much argue that Goku practically only has one base now.

No way is Goku's normal base stronger than SSJ3 Gotenks when he fought Gohan on par on equal forms.

Compare Goku's base aura from Ep24 & Ep42... he has a creamy/milky aura. Now look at the aura he uses in Ep 89. It looks completely different... it's probably nothing, but who knows. I'm going crazy.
