Are people not moderately amused by the prospect of the audience being asked to cheer for Freeza against a team of real-deal altruistic superheroes?

That's classic Dragon Ball madness.

I hadn't even thought of it like that, honestly. But it' sounds pretty funny now that I think about it.

Has anyone else thought that Freeza could be back for a role larger than just entering the Tournament of Power? What if he comes up with a plan to invade one of the other universes at the end, causing mayham and destruction in it.

Or even more so, upon seeing Cabba and the other Saiyans, Freeza escapes to Universe 6 and tries to wipe out all the Saiyans there and we get an arc of Frost (who redeemed himself), Cabba, Kale, Caulifla and Vegeta and Goku stoping Freeza and his newly built empire.

Having Freeza as a untrustworthy alley is cool, but I felt like his time is done. It does make me feel kinda mad that they are having Buu fall asleep again.

Having Freeza in a different role than his usual "kill all the monkeys" one could be fun, it could also go terribly though. I'll just wait and watch how things unfold (crazy aproach within this fanbase lol)

Also, how is Goku going to keep the lie about the prize? "yeah, it's a friendly tournament and the winner gets a million zeni, anyway, here is the 10th member of the team, Freeza". The other characters can't be that stupid to not think something is weird, can they?

Dragon Ball is the story of Son Goku...nobody else needs spotlight. You're not doing this right now, but I'm always confused when people mockingly call Super "The Goku Show".

How about no? I mean GT was also called "Goku Time" and that was also a bad thing. Other characters need spotlight. To say otherwise is absolutely insane.

Obviously it is not going to just be Goku alone on screen, but just because a character exists in Dragon Ball, that doesn't mean they deserve any certain amount of screen time. Goku goes on his adventures, and anyone that Toriyama/Toei feels like drawing in gets to be a part of it. To say otherwise is absolutely naive...?

I mean...yeah, maybe. But from the episode titles, it seems Vegeta goes into the RoSaT before Goku realizes Boo is asleep. Goku probably isn't clever enough outside of battle to realize this, Mr. Satan doesn't know about the RoSaT, and Gohan is busy training with Piccolo.

Don't overreact guys maybe Frieza won't join the team and Buu will wake up on time or something different happens also after Gohan gets his bs power up Frieza will be 5th strongest i believe ?

I think you mean 4th... And no 17 isn't stronger than golden Frieza. I don't think Gohan will surpass Golden Frieza either. In the next episode it looks like he is fighting ssj2 Goku.

One rather big problem with Buu and the Time Chamber idea...Buu is officially stated be out for 2 months. Thats about what 4 hours in the time chamber at most right?

The tournament is about to start, they dont even have that much time to spare.

Never really understood the want for other characters to "shine" with this series. Like, I get it. People are tired of Goku, but he IS the main focus of the story whether anyone likes it or not, Lol.

I mean, plenty of times in the series have we seen others have their time to shine with Goku not in the arcs.

Goku dead training with Kaiosama during the Saiyan Arc.

Goku hospitalized and then in space for much of the Namek/Freeza Arc.

Goku in a coma for everything in the Androids arc up until Cell. Then it's all Gohan anyway.

Goku trying to stay dead in the Boo Arc.

The entire series has revolved around their one, critical character not being there for, I would say 50% of it, then showing up to save the day. Hell, this even happened in the BoG Arc and the Universe 6 Arc.

You're certainly entitled not to enjoy it, though, for sure. I just tend to scratch my head when people say too much Goku is bad for the show. Half of the time he isn't even involved.
