This tournament is going to be real good, this can really turn out as one of the best arcs ever out of this franchise.

I guess it depends on how soon the tournament is when they find this out. If it's too close, then they wouldn't have enough time even with the chamber. 4 hours would be 2 months i think and next episode already starts with only 9 left.

Only the internet fans are sick of Freeza. The general fandom adores him. Why do you think he's the #1 villain in the franchise and his movie made million of dollars.

Any by overusing him you'll see those very fans begin to hate him. I like Freeza, but this just seems wrong and way too soon to bring him back again.

I doubt it is the very same fans that love him, just like Vegeta fans don't complain about him being overused. Especially since Resurrection 'F' aired over a year ago by this point. Plus, Freeza's fans can see him being a real badass instead of the butt monkey he was in his own arc because he was a shortsighted idiot.

Cell is hard for them because of his spots, that would do more bad than good production wise. Freeza's pretty easy to draw as well.
What are the chances of Toyo wanting his manga to be different so he uses Cell instead of Freeza haha.

From a merchandise standpoint, Freeza is the most popular villain in the franchise. His movie is the best selling dragon ball movie of all time. So I get that. Anime has to make money, dragon ball has to make money and it does. I get that.



If anyone has yet to learn, that super is nothing more than a cashgrab meant to sell toys, cards and dlc look no forward. The manga does it too, with the damn super saiyan god vegeta.


We need to accept what Dragon ball is now or leave it. Let's see Toriyama. Lets see how you can make another bad idea work, you did it all the time back in the old days, androids being stronger than the galactic emperor, gohan becoming the most powerful character by sitting on his ass, a stupid dance to make people powerful and earing powerups.

I can't even lie, I didn't see this coming and I was going to leave super for a month to binge these episodes but fuck all that, no no no. I want to see this, I want toEXPERIENCE this from beginning to end, because this is the dumbest idea this man has ever had and I want to see how he executes this.

Dragon Ball has always been a cash grab. Toriyama created the series to get your money, not because of some higher artistic purpose. So you're just accepting what Dragon Ball has always been.

The problem with Frieza's prior returns is that they were basically always hte same damn thing. Frieza is back, and he's more powerful than ev- Oh, he's dead already. Shit.
I'm not gonna lie, him being forced to work with the people he hates? THAT'S a unique twist AND is a good reason to actually bring him back. So far, this isn't simply a rehash of his other returns, it's actually going somewhere; it has the possibility of adding a lot to the arc.

I can already see the running joke of Frieza being extremely petty and having Goku and Vegeta keep him in line.

Freeza returned stronger than ever once. All the other times he was the exact same strength as he was on Namek and got killed in one hit.

If that was the case, people like Freeza wouldn't be that popular either since he died decades ago and stood dead outside of Toei using him as a butt monkey, something Cell was reduced to too after he died. So blaming Cell lack of popularity on Toriyama doesn't make sense. Cell isn't popular because he's boring and only his voice in the anime is his saving grace.

And characters that Toriyama haven't used for years remained popular like Gohan staying in the top 3 despite his lack of story until recently, Roshi beating out Tien and Yamcha despite him falling off the map by the end of Dragon Ball, Future Trunks still scoring high years before Online and Xenoverse. So this narrative is flawed on its face.

Android 17 still isn't that popular. Most fans, besides his hardcore base, are meh about him and are more interested in Gohan.

I hope you're not implying that Boo is a part of the main cast because he most definitely isn't. He has never been relevant outside the Boo saga and even then, fat boo became almost completely irrelevant once he was absorbed.

Where the hell did this come from? I have not read any Gohan fan say "WE WANT GOHAN TO BE THE 2ND STRONGEST or GOHAN WILL SURPASS GOKU" him just being relevant is a good enough reason to watch, its not all about being powerful to be relevant, Bulma was fucking relevant back in the days/ FT arc and she's an ant compared to Roshi.

Not worried for Buu, he jobbed again but he can return later in the series at any moment and being relevant without effort, I guess will come to play when Uub enters

I know that I'll be reiterating what many people have already said, but I just woke up to this and I feel like I should comment on it as well, so

Wow. For any Buu fans, especially after Fit Buu, I am so sorry. Buu is getting shafted AGAIN, and for the third return of Frieza at that. I'd consider that as bad for Buu fans as Tracksuit Gohan for Gohan fans.
Speaking of Frieza, obviously, him returning for the tournament will be one of the moments we'll look back on when we ask ourselves "When did Super jump the shark". While they could play it for laughs, Frieza taking potshots at Goku and Vegeta despite technically being on their team would be pretty funny, it's a direction I can't really support the show heading down.
