This is pretty dissapointing. I think the worst part is how repetitive it is. Freeza resurrected again? Buu hyped and then sidelined because "he falls sleep" again? Toei at last tried to do some damage control and showcase Buu in the pre-tournamet match, but this only rised the hype about him. I always knew Toriyama and Co. doesn't know how to handle the character, but this is too much. C'mon, Buu is powerful, but it woulnd't be that hard to put him off the ring for someone like Jiren.

Goku searching for the only character he truly despises is bad, but Vegeta fighting alongside Freeza is just out of character. I guess he can do the effort for Bulla and Bulma, but they better write this convincingly.

And now Frost and his interactions with his team would feel totally redundant. What was the point in creating the character, if they're going to bring Freeza each two arcs?

I still think is gonna be a fun arc, but this is a bummer.

I hope you're not implying that Boo is a part of the main cast because he most definitely isn't. He has never been relevant outside the Boo saga and even then, fat boo became almost completely irrelevant once he was absorbed.

It would be a disgrace to the rest of the team apart from 17 if they go out early but Frieza lasts a long time as they are apart of the main cast.

Man, 11 fucking spots and no room for Yamcha. Speechless. And Toei? Like the hell? Those fuckers made him look so good back in Z and now they treat him like utter garbage. I know they are doing it because the fans see him as a joke, but this joke with him just waiting isnt even funny anymore. At the beginning, sure. Now they will just keep dragging it out further. The obvious thing that will happen after the tournament ends is a scene with Yamcha, still waiting in his apartment.
Growing up with the original cast, this is such a big disappointment for me and Yamcha will obviously never, ever have a role as a fighter again. If they ever made a saga where the earth was invaded by so many enemies that required all the Z-fighters to fight, they would probably still find a fucking way to exclude him.

I just can't imagine a single scenario where Freeza would actually co-operate with them. I couldn't imagine him managing to stop himself from trying to murder Goku the moment he has a body. Even if they give some kind of consequence to it, or say they'll kill him if he does...he's already in eternal torment in Hell for the rest of his life. Knowing that he killed Goku would probably be enough of a reward for him to risk going back there. And why would he care about the universe getting erased? That would be a release from his torment. He'd probably want that to happen. At least there he'd also know his worst enemies would also be dead because of it.

I've noticed a trend of referring to this as pure fanservice, etc., and I suppose in another sequel I might agree. But, despite my overall lukewarm (at the very best) feelings on Super's execution, what has me excited for this is that it isn't Dragon Room et al. choosing to bring back Freeza for a celebrity cameo; it's Toriyama outlining a plot that involves him teaming up with the heroes (as payoff for the last Freeza story line).

That's something else entirely, and it promises to be highly amusing.

At this point we're all just speculating, but a "Get out of Hell free" card wouldn't be enough?
