Well just because a series did this one thing doesn't mean it works with another series and it's different characters. Also I never finished Naruto so I can't even say for sure how that worked out. Freeza is as bad as they get and he is iconic for being so. I believe someone here mad the comparison, that it would be like turning the Joker good. It's just doesn't sit right. Could they write it so it works? I suppose they could. But should they? That's what people are having trouble accepting.

How common is common sense really?

Again, different characters, and different circumstances. Also Fairy tails writing is really frustrating. So if they started writing things for super like they do for Fairy tail it would be a total wreckage. People already compare Trunks spirit sword to fairy tail-esq writing and it isn't to compliment it. And I say this as someone who kinda likes fairy tail.

I sure as hell don't want Freeza turning to the side of good through the power of friendship and laughter.

Well isn't that the point of Buu? He is child like but his friendship with Satan is probably my favorite aspect of the character.

I kinda like the idea. I completely understand why people have problems with this and the anger (most of it) is justified. We had a 2015 film of this character returning and there was a retelling of this film in Super, of course a lot of people would feel like that the use of this character is now exhausted and bringing him back yet again is really frustrating.

Why I like the idea of him coming back again is the thought of him being forced to fight alongside people who were responsible for his failures. I am so curious to see how this all pans out. Surely Vegeta would be totally against this, and he missed his chance of killing Freeza in the movie. Maybe even Vegeta will screw over Freeza in the tournament. Anything could happen. It brings a lot of tension to the team in my opinion.

I'm also really curious as to how Goku will convince Freeza to join the team. The guy is dead and his punishment is to be tormented by stuffed animals and pixies while trapped in a cocoon for the rest of eternity. If the destruction of the universe is what will happen if Universe 7 fails, wouldn't Freeza be okay with this? That would end his misery.

Of course, I honestly would have preferred to see Buu fight in this tournament instead, and the whole him falling asleep for 2 months thing definitely annoyed me, but Freeza's participation in the tournament definitely has me more curious than annoyed.

I thought Evil Goku was a terrible idea when it was first announced, but Goku Black ended up being one of my favourite villains in all of Dragon Ball. This could turn out really well if done correctly.

Shitty idea, but could be brilliantly executed. We'll have to wait and see. For all we know, this is just more padding for the arc, Freeza will either initially agree or straight up tell Goku to f*ck off, and then Boo ends up waking up at the last moment. It could very well be Toei faking us out.

If it does turn out to be true... Come on! Was it really necessary to give Boo the shaft a third time? If we must get Freeza, why not give Roshi or Tenshinhan the rest they need? Their character arcs are long over (the former of which, very satisfyingly so.) It's strange that Boo sleeps so much... after building his house, it was shown that he only needs half a minute of sleep.

The one thing this will do is make RF important. Before it was just a standalone story that could've easily been taken out and nothing would've changed but that's not the case anymore.

It still remains to be seen how they handle this. On one hand the idea of Freeza coming back is very overused so I understand why fans are against it but if they do it right then that won't matter.

But he got to beat him up in RF so will that be enough to keep him from pulling something ? another thing is that he doesn't know the universe is on the line so surly this will be enough for him to question what's really going on.

Freeza will have 24 hours while the tournament will last for less than an hour so surely something will go down between him and everyone else afterwards.

With that kind of punishment the only way I can see him agreeing is if Goku agrees to bring him back to life afterwards.
