That's what I started with, and here's what I ended up with:

This was pretty simple. I took some slight creative liberties in the name of laziness, because you can see a bit of grass and some more rocks to the right on the original, but I just repeated the pattern of the dirt because it made things quick and easy.

This one took more extensive work and redrawing. I think it turned out good though. I like this shot because it showcases just how good Kai's dark detail is.
Also, I have an old Z pan I made with the Dragon Boxes of Vegetto becoming a Super Saiyan:

I also recently made it from the same footage in Kai. It was made from a YouTube clip I found, since I refuse to download and pirate the series, but it's still sharp considering:

Now, the reason I posted these two is to show how much better even Kai 2014's dark detail is! I've heard people complaining about crushed blacks, but here it knocks the socks off of the Dragon Boxes, which crushes all of the line work in Vegetto's shaded areas of clothing, and in Kai you can tell that Vegetto has brown hair which he gets from Vegeta, which looks just black in the Dragon Box footage. I supposed I should mention that I also removed the green tint, which sucks, but the end result looks good, color-wise.
This just makes me even more impatient for FUNimation to release the Buu arc of Kai. I want some camera pans with good dark detail damnit!
